We only have a few weeks of dual meets left on the NCAA calendar, so let's enjoy it while it lasts! Watching Sacred Heart coach Paulina Biega at last year’s Senior High School Nationals in Virginia Beach was a sight to behold. She was there recruiting talent, of course, but she also had a long line of parents and athletes who wanted to learn more about her program.

There was no post-National Duals hangover for King University. The Tornado wreaked havoc on the competition at home following a memorable weekend in Louisville, highlighted by a thrilling 23-21 win over North Central in the finals.

If dramatic finishes are your thing, then King and Southern Oregon delivered must-watch finals at the NWCA National Duals.

Day one of the NWCA National Duals had plenty of intrigue highlighted by McKendree’s quarterfinal thriller over Augsburg in the NCAA division. The Auggies led by five entering the 191-pound final and the Bearcats needed a fall for a tie.

The NWCA National Duals is January 6-7 in Louisville, Kentucky, and brackets for both divisions have dropped. King University enter as the top seed after winning the event last year but they are missing a 191-pounder so the Tornado will have an open weight for every dual.

Carley Ceshker just won the Midlands Championships as a freshman — in high school.

#24 Owen Pentz added to the chaos at 197 lbs by taking out #2 Ethan Laird in the Southern Scuffle semis.

#2 Kendall Coleman of Purdue and #12 Jarrett Jacques of Missouri had a wild Scuffle semi that ended in sudden-victory.

The 2023 Southern Scuffle is taking place January 1-2 and features some of the country’s best wrestlers. With so many top guys in action, there are sure to be numerous upsets that we’ll be tracking in the below article. As the event unfolds, we'll update the results at the end of every round.
