Macey Kilty may be on the cusp of another banner year, but Aine Drury can also compete with the best at 65kg—could she stop Kilty in her tracks?

The final step of the USA Wrestling World Team Trials process is just days away. Final X 2025 has a packed schedule of the best freestyle wrestlers in the country as they go head-to-head to earn a spot to represent the United States at the 2025 Worlds in Croatia.

Here's what to know before the two clash at Final X:

Macey Kilty Holds All Of The Cards

Coming in as the favorite, Macey Kilty has been hard to beat at the 65kg weight. The 24-year old from Wisconsin most recently won a back-to-back gold medal at the 2025 Pan-Am Championships and was the 2025 NCWWC (NCAA) champion for Iowa.

At Worlds, Kilty has a history of walking out with medal around her neck including the bronze in 2024 and silver in 2023, which earned her an automatic bid to Final X.

Also in 2024, she was a best-of-three finalist at the Olympic Trials. She is widely considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the country.

Aine Drury Can Flip The Script

Aine Drury, just a year younger than her opponent, is from Westminster, California and wrestles for King University. She earned fifth place at the NCWWC.

She is the reigning 2025 U.S. Open champion, which punched her ticket to Final X. She defeated Bella Mir in the finals in an exciting back and forth.

In 2024, Drury put on a show at the U23 Pan-Am Championships, outscoring opponents 27-1 in the tournament. Her wins at the 2024 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament also set her up for success to compete with the best on an international stage.

The History Behind Kilty vs Drury

After four matches, Kilty holds all of the cards over Drury. Resulting in four technical falls and a scoring difference of 43-1, it will take a stellar performance from Drury to hold off the young star and 2028 Olympic hopeful in Kilty.

Two of Kilty's wins over Drury took place in the best-of-three at the Senior World Team Trials, 2-0. Earlier this year, Drury's chances at the NCWWC were dashed after losing to Kilty.
