Oklahoma State Wrestling enters the 2023-2024 season ranked No.10 in the FloWrestling preseason poll as the Cowboys look top build onto their lengthy program history. 

No program has won more NCAA Wrestling Team Championships than OK State, which has won 34 since 1928. But after winning four straight titles from 2003-2006, Oklahoma State will have gone 18 years since its last national team title when the NCAA Tournament begins in March. 

Oklahoma State will start that chase for No. 35 on Nov. 10 at home in a dual meet against Bucknell before traveling to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational from Dec.1-Dec. 2.

The highlight of the schedule for the Cowboys just may be their dual meet against North Carolina State, which is in Sicily, Italy at Naval Air Station Sigonella.

Oklahoma State returns several talented wrestlers this year, including Daton Fix, who became the program’s 15th four-time All-American in 2023. He went 30-2 with a 17-0 mark in dual meets last season. Fix enters the season as the No.7-ranked Pound-For-Pound wrestler in the country according to FloWrestling and the No.2 wrestler at 133-pounds, behind only Cornell’s Vito Arujau.

Along with Fix, Izzak Olejnik (No.6 at 165-pounds) and Dustin Plott (No.4 at 184) round out a talented roster.

When Is the 2024 Big 12 Wrestling Tournament? 

The Big 12 Wrestling Championships are at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The BOK Center hosted the 2023 NCAA National Championships. The BOK Center also hosted the Big 12 Championships in 2023. 

What College Wrestling Teams Are In the Big 12?

The Big 12 wrestling members are different from other sports. 

For example, despite being in the Southeastern Conference for other sports, Missouri never left the Big 12 for wrestling. The SEC doesn’t have wrestling as a sport. 

It hasn't been determined if Oklahoma, which is leaving the Big 12 in other sports after the 2023-2024 seasons, will remain in the conference for wrestling.
