The Michigan Wrestling team begins the season ranked No. 9 in the FloWrestling preseason poll and will start the year at the home of one of its biggest rivals.

On Nov. 11, the Wolverines will travel to East Lansing, Mich. to compete in the Michigan State Open to kickoff the season. The Michigan State Open is streaming live on FloWrestling and the FloSports app.

It’s one of two early season tournaments the Wolverines are attending. Michigan will compete at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational from Dec. 1-2, which is also streaming live on FloWrestling and the FloSports app.

Michigan Wrestling will need to overcome the loss of Hodge Trophy Winner, and World Championships Bronze Medalist, Mason Parris. The reigning NCAA Heavyweight Champion became the program’s first Hodge winner during his fifth and final season in 2022-2023.

But Michigan is still loaded with talent.

The Wolverines have several top-25 ranked wrestlers in their weight classes according to FloWrestling. Michael DeAugustino (No.12-ranked at 124-pound), Chris Cannon (No.10 at 133), Will Lewan (No.7 at 157), Cam Amine (No.3 at 165), Shane Griffith (No.4 at 174) and Lucas Davison (No.4 at 285).
