Undefeated 4x National Champ Shilson Transfers To McKendree
Emily Shilson, a four-time undefeated national champion for Augsburg, announced on Instagram she is transferring to McKendree.
The reigning three-time national collegiate champions are serious about making a run at four in a row in 2023. McKendree University just added another piece to the championship puzzle by adding undefeated four-time national champion Emily Shilson to its roster.
Shilson competed for Augsburg from 2019 through 2022 but did not wrestle for the Auggies this season. She competed in the All-Star Classic in November but wore neutral colors, indicating she might not return.
The Maple Grove, Minnesota, native made the announcement on Instagram with the following message.
“Environment is everything. Go Bearcats!”
Shilson won a WCWA championship in 2020 followed by an NCWWC title a few weeks later. She added national collegiate championships in 2021 and 2022, all at 109 pounds.
The former Augsburg star has had international success, as well. Shilson is a three-time age-level World champion who recently competed in the World Cup at 50 kg.
Emily Shilson has an impressive international resume
