The dramatic roller coaster ride that has been the life and wrestling career of Chance Marsteller isn't over yet -- he is entered in the Bill Farrell International Open at 74 kg.

Just over two months ago, the five-time Pennsylvania state champion was enrolled at Lock Haven University after transferring from his first school, Oklahoma State University, following a tumultuous redshirt freshman year. On the night of August 31, Marsteller's trouble turned from bad to worse when he was arrested at an apartment complex on campus. Marsteller was charged with six counts of aggravated assault -- a first-degree felony -- six more counts each of misdemeanor simple assault and reckless endangerment, two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and one count of misdemeanor open lewdness, according to Clark County court records.

After leaving Lock Haven and spending the past few months in a rehabilitation facility for drug and alcohol dependencies, Marsteller is ready to make one more go of his wrestling career. Although his personal life has been in disarray, his on-the-mat ability has never been in question. This past June, Marsteller made it to the University World Team Trials finals and wrestled two-time NCAA champion Isaiah Martinez in an amazing bout, showing glimmers of the greatness that made the Pennsylvania native one of the top recruits coming out of high school in 2014.

If Marsteller has taken his recovery seriously, it will be interesting to see if he can make a dent in a weight class that has some serious brass. Last year's Bill Farrell finalists, Dan Valimont and Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, are set to compete on Friday. Abdurakhmonov has a world bronze at 70kg in 2015. Marsteller former OSU teammate and three-time NCAA champion Alex Dieringer is also registered at 74kg this weekend.

When asked how he feels about the latest incarnation of his wrestling career, Marsteller said "I'm just happy to be doing what I love to do."
