2023-24 NCAA DI Rankings
149 - Caleb Henson
Caleb Henson takes over the #1 spot after winning NCAAs while defeating Ridge Lovett and Austin Gomez. The rest of the rankings mostly follow the results from NCAAs but it's worth explaining a few of the wrestlers' positions.
First is Jackson Arrington at the #7 spot even though he failed to place in the top 8. Arrington only lost to Gomez and Kasak - the second and third-place finishers at the NCAA Tournament. Beyond that, Arrington had a phenomenal season and notably defeated NCAA Champ Henson just two weeks ago in the ACC finals. Because of that, Arrington holds his spot at #7.
The next wrestler worth explaining is Quinn Kinner's spot at #13 even though he placed 8th. Kinner's best win of the tournament was over #9 Chance Lamer but Kinner also lost to Gabe Willochel at NCAAs. Beyond that, Kinner entered NCAAs as the #30 ranked wrestlers due to his losses on the year to Finn Solomon, Nick Stonecheck, Eligh Rivera, Michael Cetta, Sam Cartella, Erik Roggie, Joe Zargo, and Nash Singleton. So while Kinner had an incredible NCAA Tournament to reach the podium, the rest of his season keeps him ranked at the #13 spot.
