Class of 2022 High School Big Board

The Best Incoming Freshmen in the America

Most haven't yet hit the mat as an official high school wrestler yet, but they've already made a name for themselves.

Ryan Crookham, the #1 incoming freshmen in the debut of the Class of 2022 Big Board, became the first wrestler to win a Super 32 title as an 8th grader. He has a win over #2-Nick Bouzakis (at Akron), who beat #7-Jesse Mendez to win the USAW Folk Nationals this spring.

#5-Bennett Berge already won a state title in Minnesota.

#9-Daniel Cardenas beat #10-Joey Cruz, a FloNationals Runner-Up to the nation's top 106lber, Richie Figueroa.

While they still have four years to go, this group has already proven a lot with excellent results at Super 32 Middle School, VAC and McDonogh Duals, USA Wrestling's Schoolboys, FloNational Middle School, and the Roller Series.

PA (10) and OH (8) led the way in representatives. While that's not too surprising (those two states always seem to have the most), it might be surprising to notice Georgia has the third most, with 7 on the Big Board. Compare that with Cali's 4 and Jersey with 2.

We look forward to following their careers.

A couple things to note -

1) It's not always clear what high school a Freshman will be going to, so in some cases, I listed hometown.

2) It's not always clear what grade a kid is, or if they will be staying back in 8th grade.
