Competing for Tunisia, Dakhlaoui began his international career at the cadet African championships where he would take home a bronze medal. Dakhlaoui would make the jump to seniors in 2015 with. a fourth place finish at the Abdelaziz Oueslati Memorial tournament before a seventh place finish at the olympic qualifier in 2016.
