Ian Malesiewski was an elite wrestler with a bright future. He had placed 2nd and 3rd at Fargo the year prior and was trying to make the cadet World Team when everything changed.

At the Cadet World Team Trial in Akron, OH he suffered a horrific accident. When going for a throw, both his and his opponent's bodies came down right on Ian's head, leaving his paralyzed.

Ian went through hell during his recovery and has been bound to a wheel chair ever since. Surprisingly, Ian is flourishing today, currently enrolled in Harvard Law School. His perseverance, attitude and outlook on life are unshakable. Ian is one of the most remarkable humans on Earth and against all odds, is thriving in the face of extreme adversity.
