Consolation Semi-Finals (2 mats) Placement 5th 6th(2 mats) *Consolation Finals (1 mat) * Championships Finals (1 mat) *will hold each by weight class and awards for 106 starting at completion of 120 TrackWrestling: All coaches must submit all season match results in trackwrestling.com Seeding/Pairings: The tournament director will make pairings based on the Wrestling Tournament Format for Region 3B. See Appendix C. In the event a qualified wrestler cannot compete; a coach must confirm his replacement at the scratch meeting prior to weigh-ins. Any injured athlete who cannot compete, must be scratched from competition. If an athlete is unable to compete, the wrestlers seeded directly below will move up accordingly. (So, if the #4 seed is unable to compete, the #5 seed will become the #4 seed, #6 seed will become the #5 seed, etc?). The double elimination format will be used in all rounds of the tournament. Seeding Meeting: There will be a Virtual seeding meeting on the Thursday prior to the Region tournament. Thursday, February 10, 2022 starting at 7:00pm. A Google meet link will be sent out to each of the teams. The seeding information form must be emailed to Steve Burton by Tuesday, February 8, 2022 no later than 5:00pm. sburton@wcps.k12.va.us Please use the attached seeding worksheet to send in that information. Entries: Each school should submit their line-up with alternates on the VHSL Region Entry Form by email to the tournament director by: Tuesday, February 8, 2022 by 5:00pm. Admissions: $8.00 Officials: Tournament director will obtain qualified officials. Rules and Scoring: The National Federation Rule Book and VHSL guides. Advancement: The top 4 wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the state tournament. Region 3B Wrestling Tournament Information in case of Inclement Weather -- If Region 3B is unable to run the tournament on Saturday it will move to Sunday. If it cannot run Sunday then it will move to Monday. If the tournament cannot be completed by Monday the Region will send the top 4 seeded wrestlers to the state championships. REGION 3B WRESTLING TOURNAMENT FORMAT Region 3B The Region 3B wrestling tournament will be all in, every school can enter 1 wrestler per weight class. Every wrestler entered into the tournament will be seeded based on the following point formula. Individual wrestlers: 3 points for a win, -1 point for a loss Returning State Place 1st - 48 points 2nd - 40 points 3rd - 32 points 4th - 24 points 5th - 18 points 6th - 14 points Returning Region Place 1st - 24 points 2nd - 20 points 3rd - 16 points 4th - 12 points 5th - 9 points 6th - 7 points The seeding criteria will be? 1. Wrestler with the most points 2. Head to Head when applicable 3. Record against common Regional opponents 4. Overall winning % 5. Previous year placement in tournament 6. Random draw *A returning state or region place winner can be seeded higher than their point total if they missed part of the season due to injury. `'
