``We are honored to present the William Brice Memorial Folkstyle Tournament.
William Brice was a beloved son, brother, and friend?a young man who loved God, loved people, and gave his best in everything he did. Known for his competitive spirit and determination, William always aimed to win, yet his encouragement extended generously to everyone around him. He began wrestling with FCA at just 6 years old, blessing others both on and off the mat. Coaches and wrestlers alike found him respectful, pleasant, and uplifting, no matter their age.
Raised in a family grounded in faith, William chose to be baptized at the age of 5, clearly demonstrating his personal decision to follow God. Jesus was his hero, and he proudly embraced FCA mottos such as `I am God`s masterpiece,` and `Success is the aggressive application of instruction on a regular basis.` The FCA ministry deeply impacted William`s family as well, helping them hold onto truths like `Trust God, the Head Coach,` and reminding them that even when things happen that we can`t understand, we can trust God anyway.
William and his younger brother Zachariah tragically lost their lives due to smoke inhalation in a house fire. In his final moments, William courageously protected Zachariah; firefighters found them together, miraculously untouched by flames. Even in tragedy, William trusted God, cared deeply for his brother, and powerfully demonstrated the reality of the gospel and heaven. His legacy continued through the extraordinary gift of organ donation, which saved four lives.
The Brice family believes wholeheartedly that William lived an impactful, high-quality life in the brief time he was given. His legacy endures as he continues to lead others?both children and adults?to Christ. `Win it for William` lives on, inspiring all of us to love God, love people, and live awesomely, both on and off the mat.``
