Timberland High School is honored to serve as the host for this year’s A/AA Lower State Wrestling Individual Qualifiers. We look forward to making it a worthy and enjoyable competition for all athletes, coaches and spectators.

Seeding Meeting: The seeding meeting will be held at Timberland High School (1418 Gravel Hill Road, St. Stephen, SC 29479) on Tuesday, February 11th at 10:30 am in room A203 - classroom located to the left of the gym lobby. This room will also serve as the hospitality room during the tournament. *** Please park in the staff lot adjacent to the softball/practice field/ gym. Each participant will be required to show ID and sign-in in the main office.

Wrestlers with 10 or more matches this year will be seeded according to traditionally-used criteria:

• Overall winning percentage
• Head-to-head match-ups
• Past state medalist/placer
• Past state qualifier
• Record against common opponents
• Consensus of coaches at seeding meeting*
• *All wrestlers without 10 or more matches will be drawn at random or at coaches’ discretion.

Entry Fee: The cost to enter the Lower State Individual Wrestling Championships is $100. Please make checks payable to Timberland High School and note the check as A/AA Lower State Wrestling Championships. Please mail or bring checks with you to the tournament:

*** Timberland High School will submit all entry fees to the A/AA conference upon all teams’ payment.

Tournament Details: Four (4) regulation mats will be utilized for the duration of the tournament through the end of the consolation finals. The top four (4) finishers in each weight class will be recognized at the end of the tournament, with top 8 finishers qualifying to the State Tournament. Champions will receive their tournament bracket as a keepsake. 

*** If your team has experienced scorers and/or table workers that will be accompanying you, their help will be greatly appreciated.

Weigh-ins: Team weigh-ins will occur on Saturday from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. Wrestling will begin at 10:00 am. Weigh-ins will take place in the locker room adjacent to the weight-room.
Locker Rooms: Locker rooms to the right of the team entrance will be available for wrestlers’ to change as needed. Locker rooms will be closed and locked following weigh-ins.

Medical Staff: MUSC Sports Medicine athletic trainers (minimum of 2) will be on site throughout the duration of the tournament as needed for medical aid. *If your team can bring an athletic trainer to assist with injuries, that would be greatly appreciated.
Bus Parking: Bus parking is located in the back of the school in the transportation lot.  Buses will park along the sidewalk. All wrestlers and coaches will need to enter through the rear entrance adjacent to the practice field. A staff member and/or signs will be posted to assist as needed.

Spectator Entry Fees: Entry fees for all spectators will be $10 (6yrs old and older).  Tickets may be purchased at the door or online:
https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/ths/page/timberland-high-box-office  All guests will enter through the gym lobby located at the front entrance (1418 Gravel Hill Road) of the school. Only SCHSL passes are permitted for this event. The pass is valid for the cardholder and one guest.
*** Please advise your fans that Berkeley County School District has a Clear Bag Policy.

Concessions: A full concession stand will be available for the duration of the tournament on Saturday. Timberland High School does not permit outside food or drinks.

Hospitality: A hospitality room will be available in classroom A102 (left of the gym lobby past the concession stand) in the corner of the concession stand. This room is open to athletic directors, coaches, referees, and table workers. A staff member will be stationed in the gym lobby to assist. Wristbands will be distributed for those named above. A maximum of 3 wristbands will be issued per team.

Coolers: All team coolers must be stored in the designated team area in the atrium off both the left and right of the gymnasium. A staff member will be stationed in the gym lobby to assist as needed.

Lodging: This is a one-day tournament. If you wish to stay closer to our location, the following hotels are within a 40-mile radius and offer competitive rates. Please note that the rates listed below were provided at the time of our contact with the hotel and may vary.
