`George Maier Varsity Wrestling Tournament Location: Haddon Heights High School, NJ [enter the school through the Garden Street entrance] Weight checks open at 7AM, weigh-ins will start promptly at 7:30AM, wrestling starts at 9AM There will be a 1lb weight allowance due to some teams also wrestling on Friday night prior to this event. All Skin notes must be presented to the weighmaster/Trainer at weigh-ins. Must use the approved NJSIAA Skin Lesion form. Copies will be made and originals given back to the participants. Coaches meeting will take place in Room #10 immediately after weigh-ins. CHANGE THIS YEAR - the tournament format will utilize a 10-man, WB3rd, Place 4 bracket style. Wrestling will take place on up to 3 mats during the day and the rounds are as follows. We reserve the right to change the number of mats used in each round based on the progression of the day. Round 1 - Prelims (all 3 mats) Round 2 - Quarterfinals (2 mats) Round 3 = WB1 (all 3 mats) Round 4 = WB2 (all 3 mats) Round 5 = Championship Semifinals (2 mats) Round 6 = Consolation Semifinals (all 3 mats) Round 7 = Placement matches (1st/2nd and 3rd/4th) (2 mats) NOTE: Consolation semifinal matches will begin at some point while Championship semifinals are still in progress (adhering to the 45-minute rest rule). The Consy semis will be slotted on mat 3 until the Champ semis conclude and then they will be spread across all 3 available mats. All match periods are 2 minutes and all NJSIAA rules of conduct apply. Roster entry and pre-seeding will be done through TrackWrestling. Each team should have received instructions for entering their roster and seeding information. The only grounds for moving a wrestler from their pre-seeded position is based on head-to-head matches this season or if a WILD CARD is voted to a higher seed (coaches vote after Wild Card coach states criteria for movement and to what position).
