A native of Arendtsville, Pennsylvania, Haines is a three time state finalist in the Hershey state, capturing his first state tile in 2021. As a youth, Haines was a freestyle and greco state champion in the schoolboy 10 division.

The only man in history to go undefeated in a college career while winning four NCAA titles. World medalist and 2004 Olympic gold medalist. Head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions and in the midst of a dynasty, having won nine titles in the last 12 years.
