The 112-pound women’s bout at Who’s Number One should be one of the most exciting on the card. Ava Ward, a 2021 U17 World bronze medalist, will face Alex Szkotnicki, a 2019 U17 World teamer. 

Both enter the event with a laundry list of credentials, and both bring a uniquely entertaining style to the mat. Ward (Missouri) is coming off of a Fargo finish where she won the 16U division at 106 pounds and placed third at the same weight in Juniors. She also won a Cadet Pan Am Championship earlier this year.

Szkotnicki (Maryland) placed third in the Junior division at 100 pounds last year and won the 112-pound Fargo title this year. She won a U15 Pan Am Championship in 2018. 

The two met in the Super 32 finals in 2020 and 2021 with Szkotnicki winning the former by fall and Ward winning by latter technical fall.
