Brody Teske has found his next college home and it appears Iowa’s lightweight stable is getting deeper.

The two-time NCAA qualifier and 2021 Big 12 champion released a social media video Sunday night that outlined his high school and college journey, culminating with nearly 20 seconds of sights and sounds connecting him to the Hawkeyes.

“I have a vision & I owe it to myself to fulfill it,” Teske wrote on his Instagram post with the video.

Iowa made a play for Teske when he was in the midst of a four-time state championship career at Fort Dodge High School, where he compiled a 175-1 record as a prep, but he opted instead for Penn State. He spent three semesters in State College before transferring to Northern Iowa, where he went 28-11 in two seasons with the Panthers and reached the Big 12 finals twice at 125 pounds.

Teske entered the transfer portal last month.

Now he’s reuniting with high school teammates Drew Bennett and Drake Ayala at Iowa and adding to Iowa’s lightweight options.

The Hawkeyes have three-time NCAA champ Spencer Lee coming back for one more season at 125 pounds and Ayala has three more years of eligibility left after posting a 17-8 record in his first season at Iowa.

There’s a vacancy at 133, though, after the departure of Austin DeSanto, who placed fifth, third and third in his three trips to the NCAA Championships with the Hawkeyes. Cullan Schriever compiled a 15-5 record at 133 while wrestling primarily in open competition last season, and Teske figures to factor into the equation at 133 as well.
