In case there was any doubt left as to who the most savage high school kid in the country is....allow me to dispel that doubt by announcing that Anthony Knox is bumping up to 120 for Fargo.

The decision came just a few days ago when Knox looked at the registration list and saw that 120 lbs is as deep a field as there is in the 16U division.

"At 113 I'm pretty sure that I would have been the clear-cut favorite. At 120, the field is loaded. A lot of guys (at 120) are dangerous. There are a lot of guys with really good hips; they can throw, they can shoot, they can snap, they can go behind, they can do it all. I’m excited to show that I can do it better.”

This year’s 16U 120lb bracket includes #5 Draegon Orine, #9 and Ironman Champ, Marcus Blaze, Cadet World Champion Bo Bassett, and 2021 Fargo finalist Sam Herring. Altogether there are 18 wrestlers in that bracket that are either ranked or have honorable mention in the rankings. For the full list of ranked wrestlers in each weight go here.

Last year at Fargo Knox put together a stellar performance en route to his first stop sign, winning the 106lb 16U bracket. Knox would wrestle Pennsylvania’s Sam Herring in the finals in a match that was not without drama, Knox was down 6 early and fought back to score 18 unanswered points to secure the tech 18-6. After the match, Knox met up with David Bray to break down his final performance.

This is not the first time that Knox has changed weight classes to seek the best competition. Last year at Super 32 he decided to drop down to 106 after previously being registered at 113 in order to take on reigning U17 world champion, Bo Bassett.

The competition gets underway on Saturday at 9:00 am eastern. You’re not going to want to miss any of the action, but you certainly can’t miss the 120lb 16U bracket.
