8 Incredible Early Matches On Day 3 Of NHSCA National Duals

Much of the action at NHSCA National Duals is already in the books, but day 3 always brings the best matchups. Here are 8 early bouts worth waking up for in the round of 32. The action will only get better from there.

170 lbs - #13 Harvey Ludington, Prestige Worldwide vs HM Logan Hoffman, Quest School of Wrestling Black

Logan Hoffman made the podium at the tough PIAA tournament this season. The Belle Vernon senior will have a tough test in the early session on the final day of NHSCA National Duals against #13 Harvey Ludington, a New Jersey freshman who won a state title in a brutal single-class bracket in his first attempt.

106 lbs - #18 Matthew Dolan, Felix Wrestling Academy vs HM Luke Willochell, Quest School of Wrestling

Matthew Dolan earned his national ranking after winning the Junior bracket at NHSCAs in March. He’ll look to hold down his ranking tomorrow against Latrobe, PA freshman Luke Willochell, a PIAA finalist in his first attempt.

120 lbs - #17 Cael Nasdeo, Buffalo Valley Black vs HM Ashton Jackson, Elite Athletic Club

Penn State commit Cael Nasdeo ended his PIAA championships due to injury, but now he’s back. He’ll have Ashton Jackson right away tomorrow. Jackson won an Indiana state title in a tough, single-class state. This should offer early fireworks on day 3 of the NHSCA National Duals.

126 lbs - #15 Mason Leiphart, Diesel vs HM Justin Gates, Team Shutt Wrestling Prep

After a run to the PIAA finals, Mason Leiphart made a name for himself by knocking off California state champ Joey Cruz at the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic. He’ll start his day against Justin Gates, a Michigan state finalist who is sure to bring the heat.

113 lbs - HM Landon Bainey, 4M Power vs HM Eren Sement, Iron Horse Gold

PIAA podium finishers Landon Bainey and Eren Sement will square off in the first round of competition on the final day of NHSCA National Duals. Theyse two didn’t meet this season although both had the success to suggest that this should be a fun matchup.

132 lbs - HM Anderson Heap, Team Thunder vs. HM Justin Rodriguez, Team Carnage

A matchup between two NHSCA All Americans going down in the round of 32! Anderson Heap worked his way into the honorable mentions by finishing sixth in the NHSCA sophomore division this year. Heap will have his work cut out for him against a veteran in Justin Rodriguez who has a decorated resume including a fourth-place finish in the senior division of NHSCA’s, a Five Counties title, and a win over #19 Brock Mantanona.

120 lbs - #19 Max Hermes, Team Shutt Dethrone vs. HM Jackson Blum, Michigan Grapplers

This is a battle between an Ohio state champion in Hermes and a Michigan state champion in Blum. Both of these guys have a plethora of notable wins and good performances under their belts in both folkstyle and freestyle. This match could really set the tone for the dual early in the day for either one of these teams.

220 lbs - #17 Andrew Blackburn-Forst, Illinois Menace Lightning vs. HM Carson Floyd, Combat Athletics Black

Andrew Blackburn-Forst had himself one heck of a season. After finishing fifth at Powerade and third at the Cheesehead, he capped off his season by winning an Illinois state championship. He’ll be taking on a game competitor to start off his Memorial Day in Carson Floyd, a Super 32 place winner.
