SPIRE Institute & Academy (IA) is more than just an elite athletic boarding school in Geneva, Ohio. It’s a way for the next generation of wrestlers to learn and train from a living legend, Kenny Monday.

When it comes to resumes, Coach Monday’s is a good as they come. A three-time Olympian, where he brought home gold in 1998 and silver in 1992, Kenny broke barriers as the first ever African-American wrestler to win gold in the Olympics. He dominated his high school career by achieving an astounding record of 140-0-1 from 7th to 12th grade. He also dominated his collegiate career, where was was a three-time All-American at Oklahoma State and captured the NCAA Championship in 1984. His career spans multiple decades of success and various disciplines, which he now applies at SPIRE as the Head Coach of Wrestling.

With a 500-acre campus that includes 750,000 sq. ft under roof, the resources and opportunities to improve academically and athletically are nearly endless. Already world-renown as an international boarding school for basketball, track & field, swimming and esports, SPIRE recently added wrestling to its growing roster of sports, with others to come in the near future.

All students are welcomed into SPIRE’s college planning and placement program, which has placed athletes at top colleges and universities all across the nation.
