DeSanto back in immediately for another takedown. DeSanto goes optional escape after a restart with 1:03 to go. DeSanto back in again to the other side and methodically works to a finish to increase his lead to 6-2. DeSanto leads 6-2 with 2:03 RT at the end of 1.
Second period: Burwick starts down to begin the second. DeSanto sweep single. He works his way around Burwick’s right side for another takedown. Burwick escapes and DeSanto fires off a high-crotch and finishes for his fifth takedown of the match. Burwick escape. DeSanto go-behind takedown. Burwick escape. Another DeSanto go-behind takedown. DeSanto leads 14-6 with 3:14 RT at the end of the second.

Second period: Eierman drops in on a single and finishes to increase his lead to 4-0. Zargo escape. Zargo drives through Eierman for a takedown. Eierman escapes with 27 seconds left in the period, fires off a double and finishes late in the period. Eierman leads 8-3 with 1:21 RT at the end of 2.
Third period: Zargo escapes quickly to cut the Eierman lead to 8-4. Zargo driving Eierman to the edge, changes levels and takes a shot. He drives Eierman out. No points, action call. Zargo controlling center, driving Eierman to the edge, takes a shot, but Eierman runs around him for another takedown. Eierman puts the legs in on top, nearly gets reversed but bails out and Zargo scores the escape. Eierman throws Zargo by in the closing seconds to score a takedown for the major. Eierman wins 13-5 with 2:07 RT.

149 pounds: #5 Austin Gomez (Wisconsin) dec. Vince Turk (Iowa) 3-2
First period: Battle of Chicagoland products with Turk from Montini Catholic and Gomez from Glenbard North. Gomez takes a shot late in the period and Turk has him in a front-headlock. Scoreless at the end of 1.
Second period: Quick escape by Gomez to go up 1-0. Gomez shoots from space, but Turk feels it coming. Another Gomez shot followed by a Turk re-attack. Nice misdirection shot by Gomez to get in and he finishes for the first takedown of the match. Turk quickly escapes to cut it to 3-1. End of 2: Gomez leads 3-1 with :06 RT.
Third period: Turk starts down to begin the third and scores a quick escape to cut the Gomez lead to 3-2. Turk double. Gomez fights it off, Turk drops to a single on the edge, but they’re out of bounds with 30 to go. Stall warning on Gomez. Gomez wins 3-2.

Third period: Model starts down to begin the third. Model gets to his feet and Young takes him out. Model gets to his feet and escapes to make it 7-3. Young has 1:19 RT. Stall warning on Model as Young gets in again. Young adjusts and is in a slightly better position. Now Model is trying to sit the corner, but Young still has the leg. Lengthy exchange there before a stalemate with :14 to go. Model takes a shot and Young catches him in a front-headlock. Young wins 8-3 with 1:19 RT.

184 pounds: #17 Abe Assad (Iowa) vs #24 Chris Weiler (Wisconsin)
First period: Assad reattack, snags a leg and then collects the other for a takedown at the 2:20 mark. Weiler gets to his feet and escapes to make it 2-1 with 1:52 to go in the period. Assad controlling center, takes Weiler to the edge, but Weiler circles back in. Assad changes levels and drives through Weiler for another takedown with :18 to go in the period. End of 1: Assad leads 4-1 with :49 RT.
Second period: Weiler starts down. Weiler gets to his feet, but Assad sticks with him and takes him out of bounds. Weiler escapes off the restart. Assad has 1:08 RT. Assad drops in on a low-level attack and they’re in a head-to-toe scramble that gets stalemated with :58 to go in the period. Weiler in on a head-outside single and now Assad is the one diving through to create a scramble. Time runs out in the second. Assad leads 4-2 with 1:08 RT.
Third period: Assad starts down to begin the third. Weiler sticks a leg in on top and takes Assad’s RT advantage under a minute. Stall warning Assad on the bottom. Assad gets to his feet, but Weiler chases him down and covers on the edge to stay on top. Weiler rides out Assad in the third. Assad wins 4-2.

First period: Several half shots, but an otherwise uneventful first period with both guys hand fighting in the center.
Second period: Amos starts down. Amos gets to his feet and Warner sticks with him as they go OB with 1:29 left in the period. Amos back to his feet off the restart and escapes this time to go up 1-0. Warner has :38 RT. End of 2: Amos leads 1-0.
Third period: Warner to his feet. He escapes to tie it up 1-1. RT not a factor at the moment. Warner gets to Amos’ right leg with the first committed attack of the match, collects the other leg and scores to go up 3-1 with roughly :50 to go. Amos gets to his feet and Warner returns him. They go OB with :23 left. Amos to his feet again, Warner returns him OB with :10 left. Warner rides Amos out to win 4-1 with 1:21 RT.

First period: Cassioppi snags Hillger’s right leg and sweeps the other out from underneath him for a takedown in the opening minute.
