Josh Barr is a top ten recruit in the class of 2023 for a reason. The Davison, Michigan product was a Fargo champ this year and earned a spot in Who's Number One.

Barr will be taking his talents to State College to join Cael Sanderson and company at Penn State. He's now the second Michigan prep to commit to the Nittany Lions in as many weeks. On December 23, lightweight hammer Braeden Davis of Dundee also announced his post-high school move to PA.

Barr commented on his decision, “Extremely excited and blessed to announce that I will be furthering my athletic and academic career at Penn State University. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me and helped me get to this point I’m at right now in life. I’d also like to thank every college that recruited me and spent their time on me it is greatly appreciated. I am honored to be joining the legacy at Penn State and to be given the opportunity to help carry on that legacy. We are…#blessed”

Barr has been competing most recently at 170 lbs and projects as a prospect at 174 lbs or 184 lbs. His Who's Number One opponent Levi Haines will likely become one of main training partners as Haines is currently the signature recruit in Penn State's class of 2022. Those two will look to step into weight classes that have been insanely productive since Cael Sanderson got to State College.
