#13 Ohio State is taking on #14 Pittsburgh in a Sunday afternoon dual at the beautiful Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio. The dual starts at 1:00 pm but if you can't watch on BTN+, you can catch up on all the action by refreshing this live blog throughout the contest.

125: #10 Malik Heinselman (Ohio State) vs Gage Curry (Pitt)

First Period: Heinselman gets to a leg early but Curry sneaks his leg out and we're still neutral halfway through the first period. Neither guy seems too concerned about getting his offense going. Heinselman fires off a high-crotch and almost gets to a leg but curry able to defend again. First period ends 0-0.

Second Period: Curry's choice and he'll go down - he's able to work to his feet and get a quick takedown. Heinselman is in on a lefty high crotch and almost finishes on the edge but Curry evades and gets called for stalling. Curry now in on a single leg, has Heinselman on his hip but Heinselman is able to cut the corner and get the takedown. Heinselman is up 2-1 with 25 seconds to go in the period. Curry gets to his feet and earns the quick escape to end the second period knotted - 2-2.

Third Period: Heinselman goes down and earns a two-second escape to take a 3-2 lead. Heinselman again gets in on a deep leg attack but Curry is able to scramble out and they're still neutral with a minute to go in the third. Curry gets to a single let with 15 seconds and Heinselman is able to scramble out and earn the match sealing takedown with 3 seconds in the match. Heinselman wins a fun decision 5-2.

Ohio State leads 3-0.

133: Dylan Koontz (Ohio State) vs #8 Micky Philippi (Pitt)

First Period: Philippi in on a single leg off the whistle but Koontz able to scramble out and almost earns a takedown of his own. They break for 2 seconds and Philippi is right back in on another leg attack. Koontz again sneaks his way out but Philippi stays on the attack and earns a takedown with two minutes left in the first. Quick escape for Koontz and it's 2-1. Philippi gets right back to his offense and earns another takedown to go up 4-1 with 1:17 left in the first. Quick escape again for Koontz and it's 4-2 with a minute left in the first. Koontz in on a right side single now but Philippi defends just long enough for time to run out in the first.

Second Period: Koontz goes down to start the second period and Philippi quickly gets legs in and gains a minute of riding time. Philippi still riding with a leg just under a minute to go in the second. Koontz works toward his feet but Philippi is able to break Koontz down and has two legs in with Koontz flat on the mat. Koontz warned for stalling and Philippi is able to ride out the second period on top - Philippi still in the lead - 4-2.

Third Period: Philippi goes down and earns a quick escape. He immediately goes on the attack and catches Koontz in a cradle. Philippi is unable to get the pin but earns a 4 point near fall and blows the match open 11-2. Koontz gets an escape with 30 seconds remaining but Philippi gets to his single leg again to earn another 2. Philippi finishes the match on top and earns the major decision victory - 14-3. 

Pittsburgh leads 4-3.

141: HM Dylan D'Emilio (Ohio State) vs #16 Cole Matthews (Pitt)

First Period: Not much action in the first minute - a lot of hand-fighting with both guys mostly in the center of the mat. Still scoreless at 2 minutes into the first period, no leg attacks yet, just a lot of hand-fighting. First period ends scoreless, I don't think there was a leg attack from either wrestler.

Second Period: Matthews goes down and earns a quick escape to go up 1-0. DOUBLE STALL CALL. One of the few times I agree with the double stall call - both men have only been hand-fighting. And the first period ends - still no leg attacks.

Third Period: D'Emilio goes down and earns a quick escape to tie the match at one. D'Emilio finally shoots and finishes a quick double to go up 3-1! D'Emilio only able to ride for about 10 seconds and Matthews escapes to make it 3-2. D'Emiio takes another shot and Matthews gets called for stalling - D'Emilio up 4-2 now with 30 seconds remaining. Matthews comes forward and shoots for the first time in the match. Takes a second shot and they go out of bounds with 13 seconds remaining. Matthews still charges forward and is able to get a point from a stall call against D'Emilio but it's not enough - D'Emilio wins 4-3.

Ohio State leads 6-4.

149: #2 Sammy Sasso (Ohio State) vs Luke Kemerer (Pitt)

First Period:  Kemerer working hard against Sasso in the hand fight early. Sasso presses forward and is able to use a snap to transition to a go-behind for a takedown. Kemerer gets a quick escape and it's 2-1 Sasso in the lead with a 1:30 to go in the first. Sasso in on a single leg and finishes quick to go up 4-1 with 45 seconds remaining in the first. Sasso transitions to a bottom-leg turk and puts up four more points for near fall to go up 8-1.

Second Period: Sasso goes down and earns an escape in about 5 seconds. Sasso again in on a single-leg and transitions to a double to finish - goes up 11-1. Sasso concedes an escape and this time it's Kemerer in on a head-inside single-leg. Sasso awards Kemerer's aggression by countering for two and extending his lead. Sasso gives up an escape and earns another quick takedown to take a 15-3 lead into the third period.

Third Period: Kemerer goes down and Sasso lets him up for the immediate escape. Kemerer again in on a shot but Sasso again turns it into his own offense and earns another takedown. Kemerer shoots again (he hasn't learned his lesson) this time Sasso threatens with a cradle but Kemerer concedes the takedown. Another escape for Kemerer and quick takedown for Sasso to earn the 22-6 tech fall.

Ohio State leads 11-4.

157: Jashon Hubbard(Ohio State) vs Elijah Cleary (Pitt)

First Period: Former Buckeye Elijah Cleary is back in Columbus and gets warm applause from the Buckeye fans. Stalemate call as neither wrestler has yet to take a shot and the match is still scoreless a minute into the first period. Cleary in deep on a high-crotch and transitions to a double. Cleary able to sit Hubbard to his hip but Hubbard counters and almost earns a takedown of his own. Good defense from both wrestlers and we're still scoreless with 30 seconds remaining in the first. Nice double from space for Hubbard but Cleary defends and we go into the second knotted at zero.

Second Period: Hubbard goes down and earns an escape in just five seconds to take a 1-0 lead. Not as much action in the second with both men hand-fighting in the middle of the mat with a minute remaining in the second. Clearly takes a single leg on the edge and gets his hands locked, Hubbard counters and is close to a takedown but time runs out. Hubbard takes a 1-0 lead into the third.

Third Period: Cleary goes down and Hubbard looks to commit hard to the ride. Hubbard gets both legs in and has Cleary flat on his belly approaching one minute of riding time. Hubbard gets to a minute of riding time as the crowd cheers on the achievement. A stalemate is called with 40 seconds left in the third and they get a fresh start with Cleary still down. Fresh start is great for Cleary and he almost gets an escape but Hubbard forces Cleary out with 24 seconds to go. Cleary earns an escape with 17 seconds left and takes a quick shot and forces Hubbard out of bounds. Cleary takes one last shot but runs out of time - Hubbard holds on to win 2-1.

Ohio State leads 14-4.

165: #9 Carson Kharchla (Ohio State) vs #5 Jake Wentzel (Pitt)

First Period: Here we go! Good early fakes from Kharchla but Wentzel ties him up with a front headlock. Kharchla gets to his lefty single and puts Wentzel to his hip. Wentzel fights hard to defend and is able to force a stalemate with 1:30 to go in the first. Kharchla gets in again with a head outside single and has Wentzel draped over. Wetnzel is in danger long enough for Kharchla to earn the takedown and Kharchla goes in the lead with 30 seconds to go in the first. Wentzel granby's out and earns an escape - score is 2-1 at the end of the first.

Second Period: Wentzel goes down to start the second and granby's out again in about 20 seconds to tie the match up at 2. Wentzel comes forward strong and gets Kharchla to back straight out of bounds - Kharchla is hit for stalling at 1:20 to go in the second. Back to the center and Kharchla is in again on a leg. Wentzel able to defend a little better this time and the position is blown dead for potentially dangerous. No action in the final seconds of the period and they go into the third tied at 2.

Third Period: Kharchla chooses neutral and fires off a quick leg attack and Wentzel is immediately called for stalling. Once again Kharchla puts Wentzel in danger for just long enough to earn the takedown and he goes up 4-2. Wentzel earns a quick escape and it's 4-3 with a minute to go. Kharchla is in on the legs against with Wentzel locked around the crotch - position is blown dead with 27 seconds to go. Wentzel fires off an attack and goes for an outside trip but isn't able to get it - Kharchla takes out national finalist Wentzel - 4-3!

Ohio State leads 17-4.

174: #6 Ethan Smith (Ohio State) vs HM Hunter Kernan (Pitt)

First Period: Ethan Smith in on a single leg and finishes quick for the takedown just fifteen seconds into the match. Smith lets Kernan up and immediately secures another takedown to go up 4-1 just 40 seconds in. Smith concedes another takedown and can't stop shooting - they go out of bounds and originally no takedown is awarded. However, the assistant ref convinced the main whistle Smith had a takedown and Smith earns the takedown. Smith continues to go catch and release on repeat. Less than 2 minutes in and Smith has 5 takedowns - up 10-4. This time Smith chooses to ride and slaps on a cradle - rolls through and gets two swipes - it's 12-4 now with 30 seconds to go in the first period. Smith continues to ride for the rest of the period and takes a 12-4 lead into the second holding 1:52 of riding time.

Second Period: Kernan goes down and Smith gives him an escape to start the period. Another takedown for Smith via a smooth double leg and Smith concedes the escape only to earn another takedown. It's 16-6 now with just over a minute to go in the second. Smith gives up an escape and immediately gets in on a lefty single and finishes quick. Another escape and takedown and Smith transitions right into a half for some back points. Earns four points on the nearfall and wins via tech fall - 26-8! That was a lot of takedowns...I may have lost track but I believe Ethan Smith racked up 10 total takedowns in two periods.

184: #10 Kaleb Romero (Ohio State) vs HM Gregg Harvey (Pitt)

First Period: It's SWOLEMERO time baby! Romero fires off a couple of double legs but is unable to get his hands locked and the action goes out of bounds with no score. Harvey in on a single-leg this time and Romero uses the out-of-bounds line to his favor - good defense by both wrestlers a minute in. Romero pressures forward steadily and keeps Harvey on the edge - shot by Romero and Harvey is dinged for stalling. Romero comes forward again and gets Harvey to the edge - they go out and Harvey gets another stalling call - 1-0 Romero in the lead. Romero finally gets to his offense and blows through Harvey's defense for a takedown with 30 seconds to go in the first. Romero rides out and takes a 3-0 lead into the second period.

Second Period: Harvey goes down, stands up and is greeted with a big mat-return from Romero. 30 seconds later and Harvey earns the escape to make it 3-1. Romero seems to be getting comfortable and shoots and finishes a single-leg quick on the edge. Romero doesn't commit to the ride this time and lets Harvey up with a minute to go in the second. Romero continues to shoot and earns another stalling point - he's up 6-2 now as the second period ends.

Third Period: Romero goes down and earns a quick escape to extend his lead to 7-2. Romero also holds 1:09 of riding time so he'll need 1 more takedown to earn the major decision. Romero continues his forward pressure and fires off a single leg - after a short scramble Romero finishes on the edge and rides out for a major - 10-2.

Ohio State leads 26-4

197: #20 Gavin Hoffman (Ohio State) vs #3 Nino Bonaccorsi (Pitt)

First Period: Action gets going with some solid hand fighting and right away we have blood time - Hoffman gets medical attention just 32 seconds in. Match resumes and Bonaccorsi gets to a left single but is unable to finish as they go out of bounds and we have blood time again. Might be the most blood time I've seen in the first minute of a match. Bonaccorsi gets to his single leg as soon as he can and finishes for two. Hoffman is able to work to his feet and earn a quick escape. Not much in the final 45 seconds and Bonaccorsi takes a 2-1 lead into the second.

Second Period: Bonaccorsi goes down to start, gets to his feet and earns the escape in about 15 seconds. Quick shot and takedown for Bonaccorsi and now holds a 5-1 lead with 1:27 to go in the second. Hoffman works to his feet and earns an escape - Bonaccorsi holds a 5-2 lead and just 7 seconds of riding time. With 30 seconds left in the second, Bonaccorsi gets in on another single leg and finishes for 2. And we've got more blood time. Hoffman has the "Gable Wrap" around his nose and we're back in action. Bonaccorsi able to ride out the period and holds a 7-2 lead.

Third Period: Hoffman goes down to start the third and as the announcer at the Covelli Center says, "He needs to win the third!" Bonaccorsi riding tough and hits just over a minute of riding time with 1:30 left in the match. Hoffman gets to his feet but is now down 7-3 with a minute to go. Bonaccorsi fires off a single from space and Hoffman is unable to fend off the attack - Bonaccorsi up 9-3. Bonaccori lets up Hoffman and immediately fires off a single-leg. He gets Hoffman's leg up in the air but is unable tofinish and the match ends in a regular decision - 10-4 in favor of Bonaccorsi.

Ohio State leads 26-7.

285: #13 Tate Orndorff (Ohio State) vs Jacob Slinger (Pitt)

First Period: The big boys to end the dual! Slinger and Orndorff are demonstrating the finer points of hand-fighting the first minute of the period - scoreless through a minute. Orndorff fires off a well-timed swing single from the outside and finishes quickly for a takedown. Orndorff riding tough and Slinger gets called for stalling. Period comes to a close with Orndorff in the lead 2-0 and a minute of riding time.

Second Period: Orndorff goes down and earns an escape in less than 10 seconds to take a 3-0 lead. Orndorff doing a good job of controlling the hand-fight and gets to a head outside single. He has to work a little harder to finish this time but secures the takedown to extend his lead to 5-0. Orndorff rides out the period to accumulate 2:01 riding time going into the third period.

Third Period: Slinger goes down to start the third and Orndorff releases him right away - looks like Orndorff is going for the major. Orndorff pressuring hard in the ties and finishes quickly on a double leg just under a minute left in the match. Orndorff lets Slinger go and will need one more takedown for the major. Sling fires off a single leg and Orndorff secures the takedown as the buzzer sounds - Orndorff gets the major, 10-2 over Slinger.

Ohio State wins 30-7.

As the fans stand, Carson Kharchla is awarded the wrestler of the night for his performance over Jake Wentzel. Really fun dual - Ohio State looked good from start to finish but a few bright spots for the Panthers in Micky Philippi and Nino Bonaccorsi. Ohio State has a nice Holiday break and won't wrestle again until their dual against American on January 3rd.
