An unusual year for the Pennsylvania State Championships as the brackets will only consist of eight wrestlers instead of 16. It shall still be a great tournament, however, and still very worthy of a data-driven deep dive into the qualifiers. These qualifiers are worth it as it was even harder to qualify this year than in previous years.

First, let's look at a heat map of all of the qualifiers. The graphic below is a map of all 208 qualifiers across both classes. 

No surprise as the Lehigh Valley leads the way. In a state historically rich with wrestling talent, the Valley rains supreme with teams like Notre Dame GP and Bethlehem Catholic.

Now, let's look take break it down by school.

AA Qualifiers By School

Notre Dame GP leads the way with five qualifiers followed by Southern Columbia, Hickory, and Benton with four. A total of 69 schools qualified wrestlers with 48 qualified just a single wrestler.

AAA Qualifiers By School

BECA will be bringing the most athletes of any team to Hershey with seven. 62 teams will be represented with 37 only bringing one.
