Big match right out the gate! Both guys with some shallow attempts in the first minute. Howard in on a leg at 1:20, but they go out of bounds. Heinselman to an ankle, but Howard pulls it up with a whizzer. He ends up in a body lock and tries to throw. Heinselman wiggles out and we're scoreless with 35 seconds to go. Ankle pick attempt for Heinselman, but we're scoreless as time runs out.

Heinselman chooses bottom for the second, and he's out in 6 seconds. He leads 1-0. Throw by attempt for Howard, but he can't get it. Heinselman tries to work from short offense, but it's stalemated. Very even match with 45 seconds left in the second. Heinselman gets to a single, but Howard puts a foot on the hardwood. Heinselman finishes a single with 8 seconds to go and rides Howard out. He leads 3-0.

Howard goes bottom in the third and gets out in 4 seconds. It's 3-1. Howard shoots head inside, but Heinselman locks through the crotch and puts him in danger. He has another takedown and it's 5-1 for Malik. Howard gets out on a restart and it's 5-2 with 50 seconds left. Howard comes forward hard to finish the period, but he can't get a takedown, and Heinselman wins it 5-2.

133 - #2 Roman Bravo-Young, Penn State vs Jordan Decatur, Ohio State

RBY re-attacks off a Decatur shot and finishes a single to take a 2-0 lead one minute in. Decatur sits out and gets the escape to make it 2-1. Decatur gets in deep on a single, but RBY defends to a stalemate. Go-behind takedown for RBY makes it 4-1. Decatur is out again with 41 seconds left to make it 4-2. RBY finishes a clean single to make it 6-2. He looks for a tilt late in the period but takes a 6-2 lead into the second.

RBY goes bottom in the second. RBY nearly escapes but shoots before they award the escape to earn the reversal along with a locked hands call. It's 9-2, but now RBY cuts Decatur to make it 9-3. Another quick 2 for RBY makes it 11-3. He's taking Decatur down faster than I can type and now leads 15-6 after two more takedowns. Another takedown makes it 18-6 as we head into the third.

Decatur starts on bottom in the third. Roman cuts Decatur and immediately attacks for another takedown. It's 20-8 after RBY cuts him. Roman takes Decatur down to his back for a 27-8 tech. Wow!

141 - #3 Nick Lee, Penn State vs Dylan D'Emilio, Ohio State

Lee handfights to a single and finishes with a seat belt on the edge to take a 2-0 lead at 2:03. D'Emelio gets to his feet on the restart and makes it 2-1 with an escape. Lee drags to a go-behind for a second takedown. The action goes out of bounds and it's 4-1 for Lee. Now Lee's ride is keeping D'Emilio flat as he works to get the wrist across the back. Now Lee gets a tilt to go for a 2 point nearfall to make it 6-1. D'Emilio gets hit for stalling at the end of the period.

Lee starts the second on bottom and escapes immediately. D'Emilio shoots, but Lee scores on the go-behind. he cuts D'Emilio and it's 9-2. Lee gets to a leg and finishes another takedown with a minute to go. It's 11-2. Lee rides tough to end the period.

D'Emilio chooses bottom in the third. He's out right away and it's 11-3. D'Emelio gets deep on a leg, but Lee ties up his ankles for a stalemate. D'Emilio shoots again, but Lee gets another go-behind with 30 seconds to go. he leads 13-3. D'Emilio gives up a stalling point late plus a riding time point to make it 15-3 for Lee.

149 - Beau Bartlett, Penn State vs #1 Sammy Sasso, Ohio State

Big dual meet debut for Bartlett here against Sasso. Bartlett gets in deep on a shot at the 2 minute mark and cuts it back for a quick finish! Sasso's out right away and it's 2-1 Bartlett. Sasso snaps Bartlet to short offense and works to a leg for a takedown. He leads 3-2 at the end of the first.

Sasso starts on bottom in the second and escapes right away. It's 4-2. Sasso has been working snaps this whole match but hasn't opened Bartlett up in this second period. 45 seconds to go. Sasso uses an underhook to get to a single but can't finish. 4-2 Sasso after 2.

Bartlett chooses bottom in the third. Sasso rides a tight waist and a half to put weight on Bartlett's hands. Bartlett keeps fighting, but Sasso's riding time is climbing. Riding time is now over a minute, and Sasso's riding hard with 30 seconds to go. Bartlett gets out near the end, so riding time makes it 5-3 for Sasso.

157 - #9 Brady Berge, Penn State vs Elijah Cleary, Ohio State

Dualing 2 on 1 ties for Berge and Cleary to start the bout, but they clear the tie eventually. Berge goes 2 on 1 to a single on the edge half way through the period. They go out of bounds, and Cleary gets hit for stalling. Less than a minute to go, and Berge is controlling the handfight more than Cleary although nobody can score so far. No score after 1.

Berge chooses bottom in the second. He's out right away to score the first point of the match. It's 1-0 Berge. More handfighting in the second but not a lot of attacks. Cleary gets to a single with 25 seconds to go. Berge fights with his hips and avoids giving up the takedown as time expires.

Cleary chooses bottom in the third. He gets to his feet, but Berge returns. On the second effort, Cleary is out and it's 1-1. Berge snaps and gets to a leg with a minute to go. He works for a takedown on the edge, but Cleary holds on for a statlemate. Berge hits a well-timed double to score with 10 seconds left. He wins 3-1!

Back from the break with a big ranked match. Lee attacks, but Smith reattacks. They scramble to a potentially dangerous position and come back to their feet with 2:20 to go. Smith drops in on a low single. He works for a finish, but Lee takes injury time before Smith can finish. Lee looks like he's hurting here. Smith chooses bottom on the restart. Smith escapes at 1:15 and leads 1-0 in the first. Lee gets in on a single and finishes, but Smith reverses Lee to his back. Ethan Smith pins Joe Lee with 26 seconds left in the period, and after 6 matches, this dual is tied!

174 - #5 Carter Starocci, Penn State vs #3 Kaleb Romero, Ohio State 

Match of the night here. Smith attacked on a single, but Starocci's leg disappeared. Back to our feet with no score at 1:15. Romero level changes to another shot, but he can't get to Starocci's legs. Now Starocci attacks, but action goes out of bounds with 30 seconds left. No score after 1

Starocci goes underneath in the second. He's out right away for a 1-0 lead. Romero locks on a single with 1:10 left, but Starocci defends well on the edge and they go out of bounds with 43 seconds to go. Starocci attacks off the whistle but can't score. Time runs out in the second.

Romero chooses bottom in the 3rd. He's out quickly, and it's 1-1. With a minute left, this match is as close as it was at the beginning. Romero attacks with 25 seconds to go, but Starocci gets to a leg on the re-attack. Out of bounds, no score.

Overtime now. Romero dives in on a shot and gets to a leg on the second attempt. He tries to finish on the edge, but Starocci re-attacks for the win! Hold up. They're reviewing it now. I could delete my note about Starocci winning, but I'm leaving it in for integrity's sake. The takedown is coming off the board. We have 27 seconds left in sudden victory. Starocci shoots, but Romero pulls him up. We're going to rideouts.

Starocci is on bottom first. He's out in 9 seconds.

Romero is down now. Starocci follows hard! The go out of bounds with 14 to go. Starocci rides out for the win!

Jordan drops to a single early, but Brooks locks through the crotch and finishes. Brooks leads 2-0. Brooks has ridden now for over a minute. Jordan gets out with 1:10 to go. Jordan gets hit for stalling on the edge. Brooks gets locked on a single, but they go out of bounds. Time's up in the first. 2-1 for Brooks.

Brooks chooses bottom in the second. He's out in 8 seconds. Brooks backs Jordan to the edge again and gets a second stall call. He shoots right after and now leads 6-1. Brooks cuts, Jordan shoots, and Brooks re-attacks to make it 8-2 with over 2 minutes of riding time as the period ends.

Jordan goes bottom in the third. Brooks cuts Jordan loose and shoots right away. He trips to finish on the edge. Brooks cuts Jordan to work for more takedowns. Brooks shoots a single again and works for another finish. He leads 12-4 with a mountain of riding time and 52 seconds to go. Brooks rides the remainder of the period for a 13-4 major decision.

The first minute of action is handf-ighting without committed attacks between these two big men. Second minute is similar. Both Nevills and Orndorff attack once in the final minute of the period but can't get deep.

Nevills takes bottom in the second. He's out quickly to make it 1-0 and shoots but can't score. Back to our feet. Nevills shoots, Orndorff works for a go-behind and momentarily gets to a body lock. Now he's back to a body lock, but Nevils reverses the position and has Orndorff's back to the edge. Time runs out and we go to the third.

Orndorff goes under to start the second. Caution against Nevills. Orndorff is out in 13 seconds, and it's 1-1. Nevills shoots again, but Orndorff pulls him up. Nevills gets in deep on a shot and finishes with 30 seconds to go. He leads 3-1. Orndorff gets out with 8 seconds to go but can't score. Nevills takes it 3-2.
