1st Period: Nothing doing a minute in so far. Medley is doing a good job of keeping his butt to the center and has walked Howard to the edge, and pulls Howard done into a front headlock, but can't score off of it. We get a restart with 1:33 to go. At the 1:25 mark, Howard with a really nice single, sits Medley to his but, hooks Medley's ankle and scores the takedown. Medley snaps Howard into a front headlock, tries to go head in the hole and spin behind for the takedown, eventually gets in on a leg, but he runs out of room and they go out of bounds with 30 seconds to go. Off the restart Howard is dinged for stalling, but now fires off a single and is in deep on Medley. Howard is able to hang on to Medley's leg as the Wolverine tried to circle behind. Time will expire and Howard has his first collegiate win. 6-5 over NCAA qualifier Jack Medley.

133: #3 Roman Bravo-Young (Penn State) vs #15 at 125 Dylan Ragusin (Michigan)

1st Period: Not much action from either wrestler halfway through the first period. Some good fake. At the 1:02 mark, RBY with a nice ankle pick on the edge, he tries to limp arm out of Ragusin's whizzer and throw the far leg in, but Ragusin timed it well and was able to roll out of bounds. No score. RBY keeps coming though and in the final 20 seconds of the period RBY gets in on a single again and this time gets Ragusin's leg off the match and finishes the takedown and also rides out the remainder of the period.

2nd Period: Ragusin starts on bottom. The Wolverine was constantly moving on bottom before a restart at 1:20, but RBY doing a fantastic job of following. As the period goes under a minute, RBY's riding time goes over a minute. The Nittany Lion is now off to the side with his knee on the wrist of Ragusin like AJ Schopp use to ride. Ragusin has no answer for RBY's top game as he rides out the entire period. RBY will take a 2-0 lead and 2:09 of riding time in the third period.

3rd Period: RBY starts on bottom and is out immediately to extend his lead to 3-0 and keep his riding time. At the 1:15 mark, RBY clears out of Ragusin's underhook and then darted in on a low double to score another takedown to make it 5-0. He will kick Ragusin and look to earn the major. RBY with a nasty duck under to score another takedown and then kicks Ragusin again. It's currently 7-2. Ragusin now hit with a hands to the face call to make the score 8-2. RBY pushing hard for the major here. He's in on another single, Ragusin dive rolls again, is close to another takedown, they don't award it as time expires. Penn State will challenge to try and get the major. The officials take a look at the call and don't award the takedown. With riding time it's a 9-2 final for RBY.

141: #3 Nick Lee/Beau Bartlett (Penn State) vs Drew Mattin (Michigan)

1st Period: In the first 10 seconds, Lee is in on high crotch and finishes right away to take a 2-0 lead. Lee rides for about 20 seconds before cutting Mattin away. A shot from Mattin, Lee directs it away, circles to the side of Mattin, drops down to a leg and scores another takedown. 4-1 now in favor of Lee as he works an arm bar. Lee's riding time now goes over a minute. They go out of bounds with exactly 1 minute left. 1:09 of riding time. Lee now throws a boot in and as his riding time goes over 2 minutes, he gets a stall call on Mattin. The first period comes to a close with Lee on top 4-1.

2nd Period: Lee will start on bottom. Mattin did a great job the first 30 seconds of returning Lee as the Nittany Lion continued to come up to his feet over and over, but on the edge of the mat, Lee is able to get his hips from and he scores the reversal to make it 6-1. He will kick Mattin and try to go to work on his feet again. 6-2 now. Lee's riding time still well over a minute as well. That's how this period will end though.

149: Terrell Barraclough (Penn State vs #8 Kanen Storr (Michigan)

1st Period: Storr in on a single, sits Barraclough to his butt, and finishes to strike first. The Wolverine is only able to ride for eight seconds. 2-1 now. At the 1:15 mark, Storr with a really nice ankle pick that he converts quickly to extend his lead to 4-1. Once again, Barraclough able to escape quickly though to make it 4-2. A head inside single from Storr that he tries to finish through the middle with under 10 seconds to go in the period, but time will run out. Storr leads 4-2 with 24 seconds of riding time.

2nd Period: Storr will start on bottom. Barraclough doing a really nice job of riding time.with Storr's ankle hooked. They go out of bounds with 1:10 to go in the period. Riding time now ticking in favor of Barraclough, and it goes over a minute with under 30 seconds to go in the period. Barraclough has a boot in and Storr is flat on his stomach. What a huge rideout for Barraclough. Storr leads 4-2, but Barraclough with 1:36 of riding time heading into the third.

3rd Period: Barraclough will start on bottom. Barraclough up to his multiple times, but Storr does a good job of hitting mat returns and dropping to the legs of Barraclough. Barraclough's riding time advantage is now erased. At the 56 second mark, Barraclough is able to escape and make the score 4-3. Riding time not a factor. Barraclough coming hard, but Storr is able to catch Barraclough in a front headlock and he will look to hang out here and chew up clock. That's exactly what happens and how the match will end. Storr wins 4-3 and gets Michigan on the board.

Penn State - 9

Michigan - 3

157: #11 Brady Berge (Penn State) vs #8 Will Lewan (Michigan)

1st Period: If I'm being honest, don't expect a lot of action in this one, and that's exactly what has happened in the first half of the opening period. Two minutes in, no shots from either wrestler. Lewan has tried to work his underhook, but Berge has done a good job of clearing ties. Berge has fired off a few half shots looking for low singles and ankle picks. We'll end the opening period scoreless.

2nd Period: Lewan starts on bottom and is up and out right away. He leads 1-0. At the 1:10 mark, Berge with a head inside single attempt. Probably the most committed attack from either wrestler the entire match., but Lewan was able to feed him hips and circle out. Fresh start with 32 seconds to go. Lewan beginning to pick up his fakes some. We'll go the final period with Lewan leading 1-0.

3rd Period: Berge will now get his chance on bottom, and he's out in the first five seconds to tie this match at one. A shot from Lewan, Berge with a nice counter underhook to knee pick, but unable to convert as Lewan recoverd nicely and squared up. At the 45 second mark, Berge finally gets his first real grip on the leg with a nice ankle pick, Lewan tries to dive roll, but Berge hides his ankles, and circles around behind for the takedown. Lewan got a restart with about 20 seconds to go, but Berge rides out the the remainder of the period and he takes this one 3-1.

Penn State - 12

165: #14 Joe Lee (Penn State) vs #18 Cam Amine (Michigan)

1st Period: Amine in the fist 10 seconds get in on a head inside single, but Lee does a nice job of fending it off. Lee goes for a slide by, Amine steps into it with a nice body lock, but again Lee recovers well as he went double overs. Their arms were all sorts of tangled up, and potentially dangerous is called right as Amine popped his head out to likely score a takedown, but one of the wrestlers, I believe Amine did let a little yelp out, and stood up shaking out his elbow. The first period will end scoreless.

2nd Period: Amine starts on bottom and is out in the first 10 seconds to get on the board first. 1-0 in favor of Amine. Lee gets in on a single, Amine rolls through and comes out on top, had Lee on his back for a second, but Lee rolled through himself, and was able to avoid giving up a takedown somehow. Michigan will challenge the call, but the call on the mat is confirmed. What a wild exchange. Still 1-0 in favor of Amine. That's how this period will end.

3rd Period: Lee will start on bottom. He gets up to his feet on the edge of the mat, but Amine is able to walk him out of bounds. Fresh start with 1:33 to go. Amine with a couple explosive mat returns and Amine's riding time goes over a minute now. They go out of bounds with 39 seconds remaining and riding time at 1:14. On the restart, Lee attempted a granby, but got stuck on his back and that will be two backpoints for Amine. Lee was finally able to kick out kick and score the escape. 3-1 now, but riding time is locked for Amine. Lee unable to score in the final 20 seconds on their feet and Amine wins it 4-1.

Penn State - 12

Michigan - 6

174: #7 Carter Starocci (Penn State) vs #2 Logan Massa (Michigan)

1st Period: Starocci gets in on a low double, but Massa is able to pass a leg and earn a stalemate. Good opening action. Massa gets to his short offense at 1:30 mark where he is really good, but Starocci able to stay square with Massa and circle out. Massa continuing to attack around the 1 minute mark as he gets in on a head inside single, but really good defense from Starocci prevents him from scoring again. We'll end the opening period first.

2nd Period: Starocci on bottom to start. Massa doing a good job of following Starocci and his riding time goes over a minute just before Starocci earns the escape. 1-0 the Nittany Lion leads with 45 seconds to go. Massa's riding time at 1:05. That's the way we will end the second period.

3rd Period: Massa will start on bottom and is out quickly, but not quick to retain riding time. It sits at 58 seconds. This one will come down to a takedown. Massa really marching forward and putting together a lot of attacks. 30 seconds to go. No one fires off a real attack in the final seconds. We'll go to sudden victory.

Sudden Victory: Massa really working on digging his underhook. Starocci doing a good job of clearing. Starocci shots from space, Massa looks to counter, but can't beat Starocci to the corner and we will go to the 30 second tiebreakers.

Tiebreaker 1: Massa on bottom and up to his feet right away, and then he tries a granby roll and Starocci catches him on his back in almost a Winn-Dixie. It will be a full four count, Massa is able to break free, and is close to a reversal, but doesn't score before the 30 seconds expires. 5-1 Starocci now leads heading into the final 30 seconds.

Tiebreaker 2: Starocci on bottom and Massa immediately goes to a snapper like James Fleming use to hit which is illegal now and he is called for it. Tack on another point for Starocci. 6-1 now. Massa will kick Starocci and look to go feet to back and he's unable to score. It's a huge 7-1 win for the freshman Starocci.

Penn State - 15

Michigan - 6

184: #5 Aaron Brooks (Penn State) vs Jaden Bullock (Michigan)

1st Period: A wild opening exchange on the edge off a Brooks shot. Brooks was close to scoring, as was Bullock after he passed a leg and nearly ended up behind Brooks, but they run out of room and go out of bounds. Bullock with a slide by and then drops down to the legs of Brooks. Brooks now doing the splits on the edge of the mat, and they will go out of bounds with no points on the board. A really nice straight on double from Brooks, he slides his toes, and stays in just by toe to score the takedown and get on the board first. Bullock will score an escape and just before the end of the period, Brooks is in on another shot and he scores it again to make it 4-1 as he rides out the rest of the period.

2nd Period: Brooks with a quick reversal to extend his lead to make it 6-1. Bullock with an escape to make it 6-2. Bullock in on a head inside single, but a closed whizzer from Brooks earns the stalemate. Just like in the first period, Brooks with another takedown just before the end of the period. He leads 8-2 going into the final period.

3rd Period: Bullock will start on bottom and he earns the escape to make it 8-3. Now Bullock in on a head outside shot and he runs through Brooks and finishes the takedown to make it 8-5. Brooks is away to make it 9-5 and he's out in enough time to retain riding time at 1:01. Brooks gets in on a low single with short time left, but he can't finish before time expires. 10-5 is the final score in favor of Brooks.

197: #13 Michael Beard (Penn State) vs #1 at 184 Myles Amine (Michigan)

1st Period: A couple early shots from Amine, but both have been countered nicely by Beard. The first one Beard earned a stalemate, but the second one, Beard got Amine's leg off the mat, but Amine was able to get his foot back on the mat, spin out, and a score a takedown of his own on the edge. In just 10 seconds out, Beard is able to earn the escape in just 10 seconds. This period will end 2-1 in favor of Amine.

2nd Period: Beard will start on bottom and is out to tie the match at 2 and avoid giving up riding time. Beard with a really nice shot, but Amine steps over, gets his hips on top, and disappears on Beard to take the 4-2 lead. Amine is able to ride Beard long enough this time to push his riding time over a minute before Beard is able to score the escape. 4-3 going into the third period.

3rd Period: Amine will start on bottom, and Beard erases the riding time of Amine, but Amine is able to escape to push his lead to 5-3 with 1:30 to go. Amine in deep again on a head inside single, does a great job of sucking the leg in, sliding his knees up, and finishing to extend his lead to 7-3. His riding time once again goes over one minute. Beard does earn an escape just before time expires. Amine wins 8-5.

Penn State - 18

285: #13 Seth Nevills (Penn State) vs #2 Mason Parris (Michigan)

1st Period: 30 seconds in and Parris has already fired off a few shots, but Nevills has done a good job of using his hips to tie up Parris. Low single from Parris, he comes out the middle, and scores the takedown to take a 2-0 lead. Nevills takes injury time as it appears something happened to his knee during that exchange. Nevills is up on his feet talking to the Penn State coaches and will continue. Parris will choose bottom, hits a granby to create a flurry and scores a reversal to take a 4-0 lead. Nevills is out and on the board. Now 4-1. At the 45 second mark, Parris with a really nice double that he blows through Nevills to extend his lead to 6-1. Parris now goes to work on top trying to run an arm bar over and he rides out the remainder of the period.

2nd Period: Nevills will start on bottom. 20 seconds in, Parris' riding time goes over a minute and then he will kick Nevills. 6-2 on the scoreboard. A picture perfect double from Parris at the 1:25 mark makes it 11-2. Parris again working for an arm bar, but unable to run Nevills over with it.
