125: Wisconsin wins via forfeit

133: #3 Roman Bravo-Young, Penn State vs Kyle Burwick, Wisconsin

1st period: Roman Bravo-Young hits a nice slide by to get on the board first about one minute into the match. The two go out f bounds and BRY lets him go off the restart. 30 seconds later and Roman is in on the legs of Burwick via high crotch and picks up the takedown as the two go out of bounds. RBY once again releases Burwick off the restart. Slide by/drag attempt for RBY, this time he drops down to the leg of Burwick and scores the takedown. The two restart and Burwick escapes with about 10 seconds left in the period. 6-3 RBY with :45 seconds of riding time.

2nd period: RBY goes down. Bravo-Young stands up, Burwick drops down on a leg, but RBY escapes 20 seconds into the period. Another slick takedown for RBY he now leads 9-3 halfway through the first. Another cut for RBY off an out of bounds restart. With 20 seconds to go RBY shoots a low double off of a heavy snap, but Burwick dives under and is able to avoid getting taken down late. 9-4 RBY with 39 seconds of riding time.

3rd period: Burwick goes down. RBY lets Burwick go right away. Hard blast double for RBY and he adds another takedown and immediately cuts Burwick. 80 seconds to go. Low single to the left of Burwick from BRY. He tries to come out the back and Burwick grabs ankles and the two work into a potentially dangerous position. with 25 seconds to go. RBY takes a couple more shots but can't get another takedown. 11-6 the final.

Wisconsin: 6 Penn State: 3

141: #3 Nick Lee or Beau Bartlett, Penn State vs Trey Escobar, Wisconsin

1st period: Nick Lee unsurprisingly comes out quickly with a double to score in the first 10 seconds. Lee tries to come out front, but Escobar defends and stands up. Lee shoots another double and scores and nicely transitions into a turk and cross face. Lee came close to getting the pin, but Escobar was able to bridge out, but not before giving up four back points. Now Lee with a cross wrist tilt for another four points. He leads 12-1 90 seconds in. After working with a bar arm tilt for a while, Lee is finally able to secure the same side wrist and get four. And time expires as Lee is holding the bar, but it's enough for the technical fall. 16-1 Lee.

Penn State: 8 Wisconsin: 6

149: Luke Gardner, Penn State vs Drew Scharenbrock, Wisconsin

A little change for the Nittany Lions as Luke Gardner takes the matt instead of probable starter Jarod Verkleeren.

1st period: Low double for Gardner. Scharenbrock fights it off for a bit, but Gardner is able to get his out and finish for a takedown. Scharenbrock stands up and escapes off a restart. Single from Gardner to the left leg of Scharenbrock, but Scharenbrock is able to lock up a crotch lock and take Gardner over. Scharenbrock gets the takedown after putting Gardner in danger. 3-2 Gardner.

2nd period: Gardner goes down. Gardner stands up and escapes 20 seconds in. Gardner still has 2 seconds of riding time advantage. Scharenbrock takes a shot, but Gardner picks up a quick go behind to once again take the lead. The two restart and Scharenbrock is able to escape with just 4 seconds left in the period. 5-4 Gardner with 24 seconds of riding time.

3rd period: Scharenbrock goes down and escapes just 4 seconds in. Tied at 5 with the entire 3rd period to go. Low single from Gardner but a stalemate is called with 70 seconds left. Righty single from Gardner, Scharenbrock sits the corner and Gardner pops his head to the outside. Scharenbrock was very close to getting his hips on top of Gardner, but Gardner held on. Now a challenge from the Wisconsin corner. The officials confirm their call, so we're going to overtime. 

OT: Gardner shoots a double RIGHT of the whistle and puts Scharenbrock on a hip, and that's all the official needs. takedown. 7-5 Gardner vicotry.

Penn State: 11 Wisconsin: 6

157: #15 Brady Berge, Penn State vs #24 Garrett Model, Wisconsin

1st period: Shot from Model, but Berge wrestles to a stalemate. Another shot from Model, but once again the two get into a stalemate. And the first period ends scoreless.

2nd period: Berge goes down. Berge stands up and escapes, but not after getting returned once. Berge shoots to the right leg of Model. Model pops Berge's head to the outside, but he elevates and gets the takedown. Model stands up and immediately shoots in on Berge, but can't get the takedown, so it's just an escape. Berge with some heavy hands snaps Model to the mat and gets a go behind takedown. to extend his lead with 20 seconds to go. Berge is able to finish the period on top 5-1 Berge.

3rd period: Model goes down. Model stands up, fights hands, and escapes. Model takes a shot, but Berge scores off of a go behind. MOdel stands up and escapes, but Berge quickly shoots an ankle pick for another takedown. He cuts Model. One more takedown and ride out would give him the major. Berge hits a drag go behind and then drops down to the leg for a takedown with 20 seconds to go. The two go out of bounds and restart with 12 seconds. And Berge gets the Rideout and major decision. 

Penn State: 15 Wisconsin: 6

165: #14 Joe Lee, Penn State vs Patrick Spray, Wisconsin

1st period: Slide by to a single from Joe Lee. Spray passes a leg, but Lee is able to scramble to a takedown. A quick escape from Spray, but an equally as quick double leg takedown from Lee. He stays in between the legs of Spray and holds him on his back for two backs. Lee tries to jump to a cradle, but. Spray escapes. Spray shoots, but Lee heavily sprawls. The two get into a whizzer position, and Lee scores with a mule quick. Right away Lee hits a roll-through tilt for backs. Lee rides him out. 12-2 Lee with 1:52 of riding time.

2nd period: Lee takes neutral. A nice reshot from Spray, but Lee defends. Spray steps back n on a leg and drives Lee out of bounds. Spray doesn't get the takedown, but Lee does get hit for stalling. Bit of a dull final 90 seconds in the 2nd and we take the same score into the third.

3rd: Spray chooses top. Spray slips the right leg in and rides for a while before slipping in both and getting Lee flat. Lee is hit for stalling, so that's a point for Spray. 12-3 now with 40 seconds to go. That's how it ends. 3rd period ride out for Spray. 12-3 victory for Lee.

Penn State: 19 Wisconsin: 6

174: #7 Carter Starocci, Penn State vs Jared Krattiger, Wisconsin

1st period: Early misdirection single for Starocci. Krattiger tries to grab ankles, but STarocci finishes the shot. Krattiger right away to his feet and escapes. Double leg attempt from Starocci, but Krattiger sprawls his way to a stalemate. Low double attempt from Starocci. This time Krattiger is able to get to the far ankle of Krattiger and a stalemate is called with 25 seconds to go. And that's how the period ends. 2-1 Starocci.

2nd period: Starocci chooses bottom. He escapes 16 seconds in. Shot from Starocci, but a nice go behind for Krattiger gives him a takedown. Starocci escapes right away put him back in the lead 4-3. 

3rd period: Krattiger goes down. Starocci returns Krattiger flat to the mat and is now parallel, but tough. Starocci attempts a bar and same side wrist tilt, but the two go out of bounds with 57 seconds to go. Big 3rd period ride for Staocci. He wins 5-3.

Penn State: 22 Wisconsin: 6

184: #5 Aaron Brooks, Penn State vs #8 Chris Weiler, Wisconsin

1st period: Double leg from Aaron Brooks and he's on the board first just 7 seconds in. Weiler escapes after 15 seconds. Another double attempt from Brooks. This time Weiler feels and scrambles to a stalemate call. Ankle pic from Brooks and he gets another takedown as Weiler turns down. Weiler once again quickly escapes, but Brooks shoots a beautiful sweep single and finishes with ease. Weiler to his feet and escapes with 51 seconds left in the period. Weiler hit for stalling as Brooks shoots a powerful blast double. And a ride out for Brooks to end the period. He amassed four takedowns and 1:40 of riding time in the first period.

2nd period: Starting in neutral this period. Brooks comes very close to scoring 45 seconds in, but Weiler almost falls into a reattack and the two go out of bounds. Another double fmorBrooks and another takedown for Brooks with 45 seconds to go. And that's how the period ends. 10-3 Brooks with 2:27 of riding time.

3rd period: Brooks on bottom. Brooks escapes 30 seconds in. Ankle pic from Brooks, transitions into a low leg single. Weiler locks in the crotch and stalemate is called. A couple of shots from Brooks, but he isn't able to score. 12-3 Brooks.

Penn State: 26 Wisconsin: 6

197: #12 Michael Beard, Penn State vs Andrew Salemme, Wisconsin

1st period: Michael Beard comes out shooting and scores just 8 seconds in. 20 seconds later and Beard cutes Salemme. He quickly shoots a lefty single and scores. Once again Beard cuts Saleme. Takes a little longer, but Beard is once again able to score with a single leg. Salemme called for stalling in the process. Roll through tilt for Beard and he picks up four more. Beard goes back to the roll-through tilt off a restart and gets four more. 12-2 Beard with 1:58 of riding time.

2nd period: Salamme goes neutral. Salemme takes a shot 30 seconds in, but Beard scores on the sprawl go behind. Beard hits a barm arm tilt for two and then goes back to it for another two-count and that makes it a technical fall.

Penn State: 31 Wisconsin: 6

285: #12 Seth Nevills, Penn State vs Peter Christensen, Wisconsin

1st period: Low single from Nevills. Christensen able to fight it off for about 25 seconds, but Nevills eventually scores on the edge. Nevills riding tough. He's had Christensen flat for a minute now. And Nevills does ride Christensen out. 2-0 Nevills with 1:54 of riding time

2nd period: Christensen takes top. Nevills able to get to his feet a couple times, but Christensen putting a ride on. 30 seconds to go and the two restart. Nevills stands up, but Christensen nicely drops down to a double to put him back down and he completes the rideout. 2-0 Nevills with 6 seconds of riding time for Christensen

3rd period: Nevills takes neutral. Low single from Nevills and he scores 50 seconds in. Christensen escapes with 15 seconds to go, shoots a single, and nicely finishes across the body, but it's a 5-4 win for Nevills.
