Remember for points spreads, the wrestler listed with the negative number after their name must win be more than that number. So if it says -4.5 after someone's name, they have to win by 5 or more to beat the spread. Their opponent, meanwhile, will beat the spread if they win the match or lose by 4 or less points.

Now armed with the knowledge of point spreads, go play our pick 'em contest by clicking here! It's quick and easy and you could win a free t-shirt! Yes, that's right, material to clothe your naked body, gratis!

Kyven Gadson vs Kollin Moore -4.5

We kick things off with a banger. These two have wrestled recently, with Moore gaining the upper hand in both cases. Has Gadson made the necessary adjustments? He only has to keep it relatively close to beat the spread.

Ana Godinez vs Kayla Miracle -4.5

The Mexican born Canadian Godinez is one of the rising stars of the women's wrestling landscape. Miracle has recently established herself as the top dog domestically at 62kg and has the edge in experience, but will she be able to win by five in this North American rumble?

Sammy Sasso vs Tyler Berger -2.5

The old pup and the young wolf, or is the other way around? Either way, this match should be fire. Berger has been around the block a few more times and sharpens his skills with Jordan Burroughs. Sasso has a pretty gnarly set of training partners at Ohio State. Slammin Sammy is just a sophomore, is he ready to take out a three-time NCAA All-American, or at least keep it within a couple of points?

Lauren Louive vs Alli Ragan -9.5

Ragan swept Louive two matches to none at 2019's Final X, both were 10-0 techs in the first period, which is why the spread is so large for Ragan. But Louive has an ace up her sleeve in the form of a devastating headlock hip toss that she pinned Xochitl Mota-Pettis with in the finals of Senior Nationals just a few weeks ago.

That gave Louive a recent transitive win over Ragan as Mota-Pettis defeated Ragan earlier in the same tournament. Louive doesn't need a dramatic pinfall to beat the spread (although that would also do it), she just needs to survive for six minutes.

Alan Vera vs G’angelo Hancock -1.5

One of the most difficult matches to handicap. There's not a lot of tape (that's what us old folks called videos back in the day) on Vera, who's going up from 87kg to take on Hancock, a guy that's had a stranglehold on 97kg domestically in Greco-Roman. And the catchweight for this bout is set at 103kg.

We made Hancock the favorite by a couple of points but Vera could be a special talent. Whatever the outcome, we get one of the most anticipated Greco matches in recent memory, so really it's a win-win for everyone!

Anthony Echemendia vs. Evan Henderson -0.5

Did we say Vera vs Hancock was the most difficult match on the card to handicap? Okay yes, obviously we did, it's right there a couple of paragraphs up. I literally just typed it, no idea why I'm asking anyone.

Point being: this one was also super difficult to handicap! Like Vera, Echemendia emigrated from Cuba and now lives in trains in the USA. He's also one of the aforementioned gnarly training partners Sammy Sasso has to roll with in the Ohio State wrestling room. Hendo, meanwhile, has been on a steady upward trajectory since he graduated from North Carolina in 2016 as a two-time All-American.

For instance, Henderson recently beat Jaydin Eierman at Senior Nationals.

We made Hendo the slight favorite, but this one could go either way.

Zahid Valencia vs Jordan Burroughs -2.5

Burroughs is the king and will stay the king until he is dethroned. That day will come, as it does for everyone, but until we see it happen Burroughs will be the favorite against just about anyone on the wrestling mat.

Indeed, folks may be wondering why this spread is so low. Well, as highly as we think of Burroughs, we're also quite impressed by Zahid, who was on one heck of a tear before he failed a failed drug test that put him on the shelf for most of this year. Of course, covid-19 ensured that most wrestlers were on the shelf for most of this year. Just one of the many ways covid-19 totally sucks.

Anyhow, one way to look at the spread is to consider how Isaiah Martinez recently went toe-to-toe with Jordan Burroughs at Final X, winning one of their three matches and losing another by one point. Meanwhile, Zahid has been adding to his ridiculous hit list with wins over the likes of Fatih Erdin (2018 Senior World silver medalist), Alex Dieringer and Myles Martin.

Which is why we don't expect a blowout. We do, however, expect a scrap of epic proportions.

Now get your picks in and let's all enjoy a fine evening of wrestling!
