Despite a dead period having been in place since March 13, 74 wrestlers from the class of 2021 Big Board have already made their college decision. That leaves just 26 wrestlers on the market, and as you'll see below, there's still an insane amount of talent available.

Today, I'll take you through who is still uncommitted, what they have accomplished throughout their high school careers, and for a select few prospects, provide some recruiting nuggets They weights listed for each wrestler are what they are ranked at in the individual national high school national rankings and the weight they are expected to compete at next season.

As you'll now see, since I originally wrote the article many of the wrestlers have since made their college decisions. As of September 9, just 20 wrestlers on the class of 2021 Big Board are uncommitted. Stay tuned for more updates.

#2 Shayne Van Ness - Blair Academy, NJ - 138 lbs

  • Two-time National Prep champion
  • 2019 Who's #1 four-man bracket champion
  • 2018 Ironman champion
  • 2018 Super 32 champion

We caught up with Van Ness at the end of April where he informed of us his decision is down to Cornell, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Princeton, and Rutgers. Van Ness posted on his Instagram story Tuesday, September 2, that he would be announcing his decision soon.

UPDATE (9/7/2020) - Van Ness commits to Penn State

#5 Cael Valencia - St. John Bosco, CA - 170 lbs

  • Two-time California state finalist (2nd, 2nd)
  • 2019 Super 32 champion
  • 2019 FloNationals freestyle runner-up

The brother of Anthony and Zahid Valencia didn't have his list as narrowed down as Van Ness, but back in April, let us know that he was looking at Arizona State, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, and Stanford.

#30 Nate Schon - Selinsgrove, PA - 220 lbs

  • Three-time Pennsylvania state placer (8th, 1st, 2nd)

A 220-pounder his first three years, Schon will be a heavyweight on the next level where he is being recruited by North Carolina State, Ohio State, Penn, Pitt, and Rutgers.

#35 Evan Bates - Chesterton, IN - 220 lbs

  • Two-time Indiana state placer (3rd, 1st)
  • 2019 Fargo U16 freestyle runner-up
  • 3rd place Fargo U16 Greco-Roman
  • 5th place 2019 Super 32 Challenge

Bates went into Fargo unranked last year but has been on everyone's radar since his incredible performance there last summer. The Indiana hammer is deciding between Cornell, Indiana, and Northwestern.

#40 Cole Deery - Malvern Prep, PA - 285 lbs

  • 2020 National Prep champion
  • 2019 Ironman champion
  • 2019 Powerade champion
  • 2019 Beast Of The Easter runner-up

Before Cole Deery decides where he wants to go to college, he first needs to decide if he wants to wrestle, play football, or try to do both. I was able to catch up with Deery in early May and he had double-digit offers from schools to play both sports and double-digit FBS and FCS football-only offers.

#41 Brandon Hoselton - Prairie Central, IL - 195 lbs

  • Two-time Illinois state champion (1st, 1st, 2nd)
  • 2019 Super 32 finalist
  • 2018 Double Fargo All-American

Like many others on this list, the pandemic prevented Hoselton from being further in the recruiting process than he originally planned to be. The Illinois stud told us that American, Campbell, Central Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Navy, North Carolina State, Ohio State, and Purdue are currently in the mix.

#42 Jake Evans - Elyria, OH - 195 lbs

  • Runner-up 2019 Walsh Jesuit Ironman
  • 3rd place 2019 Beast Of The East
  • 6th placer at Cadet World Team Trials
  • 6th place at 2019 Super 32 Challenge

#43 Luka Wick - San Marino, CA - 152 lbs

  • Two-time California state placer (5th, 5th)
  • 2019 Doc Buchanan champion

Wick is also very early in the process, but one thing is for certain. He will not be following in his brother Evan and Zander's footsteps and going to Wisconsin. Wick let us know that Cal Poly, Michigan, Navy, Nebraska, North Dakota State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and Pitt are the schools he is looking at currently.

#44 Nick Moore - St. Paris Graham, OH - 138 lbs

  • Two-time Ohio state finalist (2nd, 2nd)
  • 6th place at 2019 Walsh Jesuit Ironman
  • 7th place at 2019 Super 32 Challenge

We spoke to Moore shortly after COVID-19 brought the country to a stop. Much like many others on this list, the dead period put him further behind in the process where he imagined he would be. However, there's no doubt on my mind that he'll be on a prominent D1 roster just like his brothers Mitch and Brent.

#47 Isaiah Vance - Hempfield, PA - 285 lbs

  • Two-time Pennsylvania state placer (4th, 2nd)
  • 2019 Powerade runner-up
  • 3rd place 2019 Super 32 Challenge

Schools are always in the market for good big men. Especially when they are top 50 recruits in their class.

#50 Diego Sotelo - Marmion, IL - 120 lbs

  • Three-time Illinois state finalist (2nd, 1st, 2nd)
  • Two-time Ironman placer (4th, 3rd)

#51 Ramon Ramos - Casteel, AZ - 138 lbs

  • 2019 Fargo U16 freestyle finalist
  • 2019 Fargo U16 Greco-Roman champion

#54 Enrique Munguia - Elyria, OH - 160 lbs

  • 2019 Ohio state runner-up
  • 5th place at 2019 Walsh Jesuit Ironman
  • 5th place at 2019 Beast Of The East

UPDATE (9/4/2020) - Munguia commits to Kent State

#57 Chance Lamer - Crescent Valley, OR - 132 lbs

  • Three-time Oregon state champion
  • 2019 Reno TOC champion
  • 2019 FloNationals All-American

UPDATE (9/8/2020) - Lamer commits to Michigan

#62 Emmanuel Skillings - Broken Arrow, OK - 220 lbs

  • Two-time Oklahoma state champion
  • 2020 Geary Invitational champion
  • 4th place at 2019 Walsh Jesuit Ironman

#64 Jacob Moon - Clay, OH - 120 lbs

  • 3rd place at 2019 Ohio state tournament
  • Two-time Walsh Jesuit Ironman placer (4th, 6th)

#68 Vincent Zerban - Civic Memorial, IL - 152 lbs

  • Three-time Missouri state placer (2nd, 1st, 3rd)
  • NHSCA High School Nationals Sophomore champion
  • 3rd place 2019 Cadet World Team Trials

Zerban has been a mainstay on Big Boards since he was in Junior High. We caught up with him in May and he let us know he is considering Illinois, Iowa State, Missouri, NC State, Ohio State, and Purdue.

#79 Nathan Pulliam - Rolla, MO - 152 lbs
