Rocky Mountain Nationals, August 21-23

The flagship event of the year, Rocky Mountain Nationals, is back with a new date and a new location. RMN Events released a note about the event:

We understand this roller-coaster has not been easy to follow and it certainly has not been fun for anyone on our staff. Simply stated, our efforts include offering the opportunity to participate in the Rocky Mountain Nationals tournament to those who have worked so hard to achieve and accomplish their goals. Although we initially had been convinced to move RMN to Wyoming, it was disappointing to hear the recent news that Wyoming has determined to wait until sometime in the future to plan public sporting events.

However, the Kansas City’s HyVee Arena staff has reassured us that they will accommodate the RMN Events finale. In working together with the venue and city personnel, our decision is final to host the Rocky Mountain Nationals at HyVee Arena on August 21, 22, 23, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and continued support. We hope you’ll join us! Please review this event page for more information.

Complete event information is available on the RMN Events Site.

Entering its eighth year, Who's #1 has featured the nation's best high school wrestlers in the country year in and year out from coast to coast. After this year, 29 states will have been represented on Who's #1 cards. I don't think you will be surprised by the states that have had the most wrestlers throughout the history of Who's #1, but still cool to see nonetheless.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a historic conference like the Big 12, which currently has exactly 12 teams, will have a presence at the most prestigious high school event of the year. It also shouldn't come as a surprise that the historically best team from the Big 12, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, will be the team with the most recruits wrestling.

Every year since the inaugural event in 2013, Penn State has had at least one future wrestler competing at Who’s #1. While that's impressive, it's not necessarily surprising considering the recruiting hall Cael Sanderson and co. at State College bring in every year. This year is no different with one already signed recruit and three more potential recruits that have shown interest in PSU.
