More Coaching Changes. Hjerling Out At Citadel

Earlier today, The Citadel announced that it would not be renewing the contract of its head coach, Rob Hjerling.

More Coaching Changes. Hjerling Out At Citadel

The Post and Courier reported earlier today that The Citadel: The Military College Of South Carolina, will not be renewing the contract of head wrestling coach Rob Hjerling.

Hjerling had been the coach at The Citadel since the 1999-00 season. During his time with the Bulldogs, he coached four All-Americans and was the SoCon Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2014. The Citadel's lone NCAA qualifier this year was sophomore 149-pounder Selwyn Porter.

This is the most recent D1 coaching shakeup of many in an off-season that has seen a relatively active coaching carousel. The opening at The Citadel is the only active NCAA Division 1 head coaching position.
