Tate Orndorff To Ohio State
Heavyweight Tate Orndorff will transfer from Utah Valley to Ohio State.
With two years of eligibility remaining, two-time NCAA qualifier Tate Orndorff will transfer from Utah Valley to Ohio State. The 285-pounder made his announcement today on social media.
A native of Spokane Washington, Orndorff finished this season with an 18-4 record, placing fifth at the Big 12 Championship.
Watch Orndorff defeat All-American Josh Hokit in a dual at Fresno State this season:
Besides Orndorff, the Buckeyes have 2019 national qualifier Chase Singletary coming back after missing all but three matches of the 2019-20 season due to injury. Assuming a medical redshirt year is granted, Singletary will have three years of eligibility remaining. There have also been rumors that Singletary will be dropping down to 197 in the future.
Also returning for Ohio State are 2020 qualifier and fan-favorite Gary Traub, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, and rising redshirt sophomore Gavin Hoffman, who split time at both 184 and heavyweight last season.
