Alex Thomsen, Nebraska vs #1 Spencer Lee, Iowa

1st Period: The wrestlers are on the mat right now. I wish I could tell you what is happening, but Indiana and Nebraska will not stop playing basketball. According to Twitter Lee strikes first with a takedown and near fall. You've watched Spencer Lee before so I think you can imagine how he did this.  Good news, I got the stream on the Fox Sports App. Lee picks up three more turns and gets the first period tech fall.

Iowa 5, Nebraska 0

#16 Ridge Lovett, Nebraska vs #2 Austin DeSanto, Iowa

1st Period: Halfway through the first period and no scores so far. DeSanto gets an underhook and Lovett drops to the mat where DeSanto throws a boot in on the far side and scores the first points on the match. He cuts Lovett right away and immediately gets in on his firemans carry and scores it to make it, 4-1. Lovett gets an escape with 22 seconds left and is hit for stalling in the final five seconds. 4-2 at the end of one.

2nd Period: DeSanto goes neutral to start the second. The Hawkeye with another fireman's carry to make it 6-2 with 1:30 to go. Lovett is up and out, but then backs out of bounds and is hit for stalling. 7-3 now DeSanto. Lovett trying to slow DeSanto down with a two on one. We end the first period at, 7-3.

3rd Period: Lovett goes top to start the third and has a boot in right away. Lovett riding tough with a bar now and under a minute to go in the match. Riding time now in favor of Lovett at over a minute. Lovett finishes off the ride out and keeps DeSanto from earning bonus points. 7-4 is the final after Lovett's riding time point is added.

Iowa 8, Nebraska 0

#8 Chad Red, Nebraska vs #3 Max Murin, Iowa

1st Period: Red with a single leg and comes out the backdoor and is now rear standing on Murin and he brings the Hawkeye down to the mat to strike first at the 2:02 mark. Murin out in 22 seconds and it's, 2-1. Murin fires off a double with :13 to go, but Red with a beautiful re-attack and he takes a 4-1 lead into the second period.

2nd Period: Murin starts under and Red is riding tough as they go out of bounds at the 1:37 mark. Red approaching a minute of riding time and goes over it as Murin escapes. 4-2 now at 1:20 mark and Red with 1:08 of ride time. Red with a really nice low single that he tries to come out the backdoor with but Murin is able to get a stalemate. Another re-attack double for Chad Red as time expires, but Murin does a beautiful job countering with a funk roll and no points are awarded as the period ends.

3rd Period: Red starts on bottom is out in six seconds to preserve his ride time as well. 5-2 now in favor of the Husker. Red one again in on a shot and tries to come out the backdoor, Murin passes a leg and forces another stalemate with :44 to go. Murin unable to get to his offense in the final 45 seconds of the match and Chad Red hands Murin his first loss of the season, 6-2.

Iowa 8, Nebraska 3

#17 Collin Purinton, Nebraska vs #1 Pat Lugo, Iowa

1st Period: I haven't said it yet, but Nebraska is wearing new white singlets that are absolute fire. Lugo in on a head inside single and he's able to finish quickly at the 2:08 mark. Lugo riding tough and now has over a minute of riding time. Purinton has no answer for Lugo's tough ride and that's how the first period ends. 2:08 of ride time for the nation's top-ranked wrestler.

2nd Period: Lugo will start on bottom and is out in 10 seconds to extend his lead to, 3-0. Still with 1:57 of riding time. Another nice head inside single for Lugo at :40 second mark, but Purinton able to break Lugo's grip and was nearly able to spin around behind for a takedown of his own, but Lugo able to square up and we go to third period at 3-0 in favor of Lugo.

3rd Period: Despite being ridden for over two minutes in the first period, Purinton goes underneath and of course he's out in under five seconds. 3-1 on the scoreboard but Lugo has just over two minutes of riding time. Lugo shuts it down the remainder of the period, and Purington unable to get to Lugo's legs at all. Lugo remains undefeated on the year with a 4-1 win.

Iowa 11, Nebraska 3

Peyton Robb, Nebraska vs #4 Kaleb Young, Iowa

1st Period: Peyton Robb looking to go big early as he locks up an underhook, but Young able to break free. High crotch for Young as Robb goes into a crackdown position, Robb rolls Young through, but Young still in deep on the high crotch. The Hawkeyes persistence pays off though as he finally plants Robb on his hip to score the takedown. Robb is out quickly though. 2-1 in favor of Young as the first period comes to a close.

2nd Period: The All-American Young starts down and is out in the first five seconds. Young leads, 3-1. Robb with a beautiful arm drag and he ties the score at 3 before Young escapes quickly again to go back out in front, 4-3. Low single for Robb at :25 mark as he looks to come out the back door, but he's unable to finish as time expires.

3rd Period: Robb will start on bottom, riding time not a factor right now and Robb is out and we are tied at 4 with 1:30 to go. Robb went for a throw by single, but caught Young's foot in the mouth as the Hawkeye went to kick out and we've got injury time. They will actually say it was bloodtime not injury time so we are on back on our feet and Young does not get choice. With just under a minute to go, Young gets in on a head inside single and he's able to finish with :33 to go, 6-4. More blood for Robb so we are stopped with :26 to go. Young rides out the remainder of the period and wins 6-4.

Iowa 14, Nebraska 3

#5 Isaiah White, Nebraska vs #2 Alex Marinelli, Iowa

1st Period: Let's hope this one is more exciting than the match we saw between these in last year's dual. White actually took a double right off the whistle but was downblocked by Marinelli. Marinelli got in briefly on a head inside single, but White was able to circle out. At the :15 mark Isaiah White blows through Marinelli on a beautiful blast double and rides out the final seconds of the first. White leads 2-0 after one.

2nd Period: White will start on bottom. White was able to get to his feet at the 1:30 mark but a really nice mat return for Marinelli allows him to continue to rack up riding time. White able to get a restart as they go out bounds at the :43 second mark, but Marinelli stops White's first move and is over a minute of riding time. Marinelli finishes off the ride and takes 1:51 of riding time into the third trailing 2-0 on the scoreboard.

3rd Period: Marinelli on bottom and is out in enough time to preserve riding time. Seconds after getting the escape Marinelli with a post high crotch finishes quickly. The Bull now leads, 3-2. A restart with :54 to go, but Marinelli once again stops White's first move as his riding time continues to climb and the math clock ticks down on White. With :15 to go White is able to get away, but he can't score a takedown and the Hawkeye wins it on the strength of riding time, 4-3.

Iowa 17, Nebraska 3

#6 Mikey Labriola, Nebraska vs #3 Michael Kemerer, Iowa

1st Period: Halfway through the first and not much doing between the Pennsylvania natives. Kemerer was in early for a brief second on Labriola, but the Husker All-American was able to clear quickly. Kemerer counters a Labriola shot with one of his own, but Labriola is able to spin out and is close to a takedown. Labriola is behind one of Kemerer's arm, but Kemerer still has a hold of Labriola's leg and that is how the period ends. Incredible scramble that both guys come out of bleeding.

2nd Period: Kemerer starts on bottom and is out in the first five seconds. Labriola now in on a head inside single that Kemerer is able to stuff. Neither wrestler is able to get anything going the remainder of the period. Kemerer leads 1-0 heading into the third.

3rd Period: Labriola starts on bottom and is up and out right away. This one will come down to a takedown. Under a minute to go, no real attempts from either guy. Labriola swing single that he cuts to a double right away and we are scrambling as Kemerer locks through the crotch and rolls Labriola through before passing a leg and Kemerer comes out on top of it and scores it with :15 to go and rides out the remainder of the match.

2nd Period: Venz will start underneath and escapes in the first 20 seconds to push his lead to, 3-1. High single from Assad, Venz sprawls down to the mat, and Assad comes out the backdoor to put Venz in danger and now scores the takedown to tie the match at 3 with under a minute to go in the second period. Huge rideout for Assad to keep the score tied heading into the third period.

3rd Period: Assad starting on bottom and Venz kicks him away in the first five seconds. Shot from Venz at the 1:15 mark and Assad stuffs it and runs around behind at the :45 mark to take a 6-3 lead. Venz is up and out to make it 6-4 with :22 to go. Venz is unable to score and in his Carver-Hawkey debut, Abe Assad beats the 2018 All-American, 6-4.

Iowa 23, Nebraska 3

#14 Eric Schultz, Nebraska vs #3 Jacob Warner, Iowa

1st Period: Re-attack from Schultz sits Warner into a crackdown position, now Warner gets his hips back underneath him and Schultz is looking to come out the backdoor, but there will be a stalemate. Neither guy able to get to a leg the rest of the period and for the first time tonight we will end a first period scoreless.

2nd Period: Warner on bottom and is out quickly in under 10 seconds. Straight on double from Schultz at the 1:20 mark but they run out of room and go out of bounds. Nice hips from Warner. Warner fires off is first real attempt of the match, but Schultz down blocks it away nicely. Warner will take a 1-0 lead into the third period.

3rd Period: Schultz on bottom and is out in five seconds. This match will come down to a takedown as well. Under a minute to go, but no real committed attacks. Schultz is definitely controlling center and cutting Warner off. Schultz with an underhook throw by single and scores the takedown at the :15 second mark and rides out the remainder of the match to pick up a huge win.

Iowa 23, Nebraska 6

#16 Christian Lance, Nebraska vs #3 Anthony Cassioppi, Iowa

1st Period: Halfway through the first, no action from the big guys. For the second straight match we are scoreless after the first.

2nd Period: Lance will start on bottom and at the 1:39 mark Nebraska will challenge looking for a locked hands call on Cassioppi. No locked hands is the call. Lance is able to get on the board at 1:24 mark with an escape. Cassioppi with a high single and he's able to trip and finish on the edge of the mat at the :41 mark. Cassioppi is able to ride out the remainder of the period and goes over a minute of riding time as the period ends. The Hawkeye leads 2-1 entering the third period.

3rd Period: Cassioppi on bottom and out right away to extend his lead to, 3-1.Another snatch single for Cassioppi, but Lance able to spin out of it with a minute to go. Misdirection single from Lance, but Cassioppi sits the corner and scores a takedown of his to bring his lead to 5-1 and tack on another one with riding time to make it, 6-1.
