So many good matchups! So follow along in real-time as I update this blog and give you the all the information you need.

125: Brandon Courtney, ASU vs Malik Heinselman, OSU

1st: Malik Heinselman opens up with the first takedown, but Courtney quickly escapes and answers with a sweep single takedown of his own. Heinselman escapes after Heinselman rides for about 20 seconds. Heinselman snaps Courtney and jumps to a head inside cradle for a takedown. Courtney avoids getting put on his back, and actually escapes. Crazy first period ends 5-4 in favor of Courtney.

2nd: Heinsleman gets to his feet about 10 seconds in but good return from Courntey and they go out of bounds. Heinselman is able to get to his feet off of the restart, but not until Courtney earns 1:19 of riding time. A couple shots from both guys, but neither guy able to get past the head hands defense of the other and the period ends 6-5 Heinselman.

3rd: Courtney to his feet right away, and quickly tries an outside carry/dump. Isn't able to put Heinselman on his back, but does get the takedown.Courtney riding really tough. Heinselman able to get to his feet, but not escape. Courtney with the ride out and he picks up the 9-5 decision.

ASU 3, OSU 0

133: Josh Kramer, ASU vs Jordan Decatur, OSU

1st: Decatur comes out firing with low level shot comes up to a double, gets in deep, but Kramer fights it off and they go out of bounds. Kramer gets in on a single, but he isn't able to score either. Kramer shoots another single but Decatur feels it coming from a mile away and easy goes behind. Kramer escapes after about five seconds. Kramer gets in on a single on the edge, pulls Decatur in as he brings it up. Decatur is doing a good job of keeping his back leg back and they'll go out of bounds as time expires, not takedown.

2nd: Kramer goes down to start the second. Decatur gets Kramer flat. Kramer gets to his feet about 30 seconds in, but a nice return from Decatur. Kramer right back to his feet and this time he gets out. Once again Kramer in on single leg on the edge, but can't score. Another shot or two from Kramer, but no takedown. 2-2.

3rd: Decatur goes down. Decatur pretty much holding base for the first 30 seconds. Switch attempt from Kramer, he switches to a double and almost reverses Kramer, but will settle for an escape. Tom Ryan wants to challenge, but decides against it. Kramer is coming after Decatur now, but Decatur gets a go behind takedown. Kramer escapes immediately and now Kramer is really coming, but it's too little too late. 5-3 Decatur. Good win for the freshman Buckeye

ASU 3, OSU 3 

141: Navonte Demison, ASU vs Luke Pletcher, OSU

1st: Pletcher heavy snap to a takedown 15 seconds in. Quick escape from Demison but Pletcher immediately back in and gets the takedown. Pletcher looks to cut Demison, but tries to go cow catcher. Doesn't get, cuts Demison, and gets right back in on a shot. Pletcher now has Demison in the air, helicopter position, and he puts Demison down for the takedown as they go out of bounds. Pletcher now cuts Demison again and then takes Demison back down and to his back this time. 1st period ends 16-3 Pletcher... yeah Pletcher is really good this year.

2nd: Demison goes down. Pletcher acts like he's going to cut Demison, but tbhen goes cow catcher twice. Demsion keeps his elbows in. Pletcher puts them back in neutral and goes dirty duck for the tech. Pletcher put on a dang clinic out there.

OSU 8, ASU 3

149: Josh Maruca, ASU vs Sammy Sasso, OSU

1st: Sasso in on a single leg 30 seconds in. Maruca wizzers hard for a long time, but finally almost a minute later Sasso scores. Maruca to his feet and Sasso pushes him away. Sasso has Maruca on the edge for about 30 seconds before getting to a single, but they go out of bounds. Action called. Sasso then scores on a go behind with 6 seconds left. 4-1 Sasso

2nd: Maruca goes down. Gets to his feet but Sasso returns. Maruca gets to his feet and escapes a little under a minute in. Sasso in a single, Maruca tries to leg pass, but Sasso scrambles and scores. 6-2 Sasso.

3rd: Sasso goes down. Sasso escapes 45 seconds in, and he escapes with 1:01 of riding time. Maruca gets in on a single, but Sasso flattens him out and scores the takedown with 16 seconds left. If he holds on, he'll have the major. Maruca gets away, Sasso drops down to an ankle with 10 seconds left, and lets him go! Sasso now realizes he needs another takedown and dives in, but get to it. 10-3 Sasso.

OSU 11, ASU 3

157: Jacori Teemer, ASU vs Elijah Cleerey, OSU

1st: Cleary tries to shoot 15 seconds in, but Teemer snaps front head and stalemate called.Cleary back in, Teemer sits and locks in the crotch. Good scramble but not score. A couple shots, but nothing 0-0.

2nd: Teemer goes down. He quickly escapes and gets in a shot and finishes. Cleary stands up and gets out halfway through this period. Cleary gets to a single with 30 seconds, but Temmer goes straight-leg defense and the period ends with Cleary on the leg, but no takedown. 3-0 Teemer.

3rd. Cleary goes down. Cleary to his feet right away and Teemer lets him go. 3-2 1:45 left. Blast double from Teemer, but they go out of bounds. That was close, so the referees will take a look at it. Call on the mat confirmed, no takedown. Half shot from Cleary and QUICK reattack from Teemer for the takedown. Teemer riding tough Cleary gets to his feet a couple of times, but no takedown. Teemer also earns a riding time point to make it 6-1.

OSU 11, ASU 6

Ye Olde Intermission

 165: Josh Shields, ASU vs Ethan Smith, OSU

1st: And we're back! Double leg for Smith. He get's in deep, but Shields locks up a chest wrap, throws Smith over and scores himself. Smith quickly to his feet and escapes. Smith back in off of an out of bounds restart. Again Shields sits the position, but this time locks in the crotch. A bit of a scramble, but ultimately a stalemate. Good hand fighting to end the period 2-1 Shields.

2nd: Shields goes down. 35 seconds in and Shields has gotten to his feet three times, but three good returns from Smith. Now Shields goes gramby and escapes. Without breaking contact, Shields tries to go head in the hole and they get into a scramble. Smith gets in on a leg, but Shileds scores. 18 seconds left. Smith tries to sit, gets to his feet, tries to dive under, but Shields stays on top. 5-1 Shields.

3rd: Smith goes down. Smith gets to his feet, but they go out of bounds with 35 seconds left. Smith gets to his feet and tries a standing gramby of sorts, but Shields stuffs and stays on top. Smith back to his feet, but they go out of bounds with 40 left. Smith stands up and escapes right away and quickly dives back in on Shields' legs. And they end the match in that position. 6-2 Shields.

OSU 11, ASU 9

174: Anthony Valencia, ASU vs Kaleb Romero, OSU

1st: Big one here with #8 Valencia vs #9 Romero. Valencia tries right-hand underhook, left side ankle pick, but they go out of bounds. Valencia gets Romero to the edge and they go out of bounds. Stalling called on Romero and the Ohio State crowd doesn't like it. Double leg attempt from Romero with 45 seconds left, sprawl Valencia, Romero tries to switch off to a single, but they end up back on the feet. Now Valencia hit for stalling as Romero controls center. 0-0

2nd: Romero chooses bottom and escapes just about as fast as one can. Valencia dives in on a shot, and a go behind from Romero. Valencia tries to gramby to avoid the takedown, but Romero does secure it. Romero putting on a tough ride, keeping Valencia on his belly for most of the time. And Romero will finish the period on top and this OSU crowd loves it. They are loud. 3-0 Romero.

3rd: Romero does down. Romero stand up off the whistle, but they go out of bounds. He gets back to his feet and escapes 20 seconds in. Valencia attempts a blast double, but downblocked by Romero and now Valencia goes down holding the top of his head. Looks like they're tending to a cut on the top of Valencia's head. And Valencia returns with the Jon Reader wrap around the bottom of the chin and the top of the head. 1:15 left. Valencia now level changing like crazy. He tries to shoot a double, but gets extended to his stomach and Romero will score the go behind. Romero immedialty cuts him, trying for the major. Valencia shoots on a single, Romero wizzers, but Valencia rolls and scores. That's how the match will end. 7-3 Romero with riding time.

OSU 14, ASU 9

184: Zahid Valencia, ASU vs Gavin Hoffman, OSU

1st: I blinked and Zahid got two takedowns. Now he locks up a far side cradle, rolls through. Zahid had Hoffman pretty much flat on his back for about 30 seconds, but no pin called and Hoffman breaks the lock. Zahid now locks up a nearside cradle and puts Hoffman back on his back, but they go out of bounds. Hoffman gets in on a single, but Zahid gets his leg back, digs double unders, then HEAVY snap from Zahid and he goes behind for the takedown. Hoffman escapes with 7 seconds left. 10-2 Zahid with 2:17 of riding time.

2nd: Hoffman goes down. Zahid looking for both near side and far side cradles. Now Zahid REALLY wants the near side cradle. He keeps putting his knee behind Hoffman's head while he's flat and he's trying to lock up the near side cradle. Now he looks it up and puts Hoffman on his back. Hoffman fights off his back 14-3 Valencia.

3rd: Zahid goes top. Again Zahid is out to the side looking for a near side cradle, but Hoffman is holding a solid base. And Hoffman is hit for stalling 1:10 in. Now Zahid lets Hoffman go with 30 seconds left. Zahid quickly gets a takedown and Zahid cuts him. Snap down go behind for Zahid and that will do it. Zahid Valencia wins one point short of the tech. 19-5. The Ohio State crowds cheers loudly. 

OSU 14, ASU 13

197: Kordell Norfleet, ASU vs Kollin Moore, OSU

1st: Norfleet with the blast double right off the whistle for the quick takedown. Moore escapes at 2:30. Now Moore gets in on single, Norfleet tries to switch, but Moore secures it. Norfleet immediate escape. Shot from Moore, and a blast double reattack from Norfleet, but he's called for stalling for staying below the knee. Moore stands up off the restart, they scramble for second, Norfleet drops down on an ankle and just stays put, so he'll give up a stalling point. Moore immediately stands up off of the restart. 5-5.

2nd: Moore goes down. Moore escapes 10 seconds in. Moore gets in on a single with 30 seconds left. Moore comes up to the waist with his right hand and pulls Norfleet back onto his butt and gets the takedown. 8-5 Moore.

3rd: Norfleet goes down. Norfleet stand up, Moore lets him go, but right into his tie. Moore shoots and scores. Now Moore cuts him. Norfleet scores on a reattack with 20 seconds left and immediately cuts him, but can't pick up another. With riding time, it ends up being 11-9 Moore.

OSU 17, ASU 13

285: Tanner Hall, ASU vs Gary Traub, OSU

Important to note: if it Traub wins by major decision, Arizona State wins on criteria

1st: Hall gets to a front head, but they go out of bounds. 50 seconds in, no score. Now two minutes in and still no score. Hall has attempted a couple of shots, but nothing has come close to scoring. And the first period will end socreless. 0-0, both guys mercilessly digging for underhooks...classic heavy weight wrestling.

2nd: Traub goes down. One minute in and Hall on top. Traub working on bottom, but Hall riding tough. Traub gets to his feet his and feet, they go out of bounds, but Hall called for stalling. And Tanner Hall with the rideout. 0-0.

3rd: Hall goes down and escapes 15 seconds in. Hall has 1:47 of riding time, so he's effectively in the lead. Traub advancing forward hard now. Traub finally takes a shot, but Hall will get the go behind. Hall goes optional start off of the whistle and cuts Traub trying to get the bonus team point. Traub gets in on a single and elevates, but Hall fights it off and the match will end 4-2.

OSU 17, ASU 16

And that will do it for the dual and do it for me. Arizona State put up a good fight and almost came away with a victory, but the Buckeyes prevail. Thanks for everyone who followed along. See you next time!
