After placing third at the US Open where he lost on criteria to two-time World medalist James Green, it looks like the three-time NCAA champion will be heading up to 74kg, according to USA Wrestling.

Many had Nolf pegged as a contender to make Final X and take on Ryan Deakin, who took out Green in the Open finals and is waiting to find out who he will face in Lincoln. If Nolf makes the World Team Trials finals in Raleigh this weekend he will face Isaiah Martinez who is sitting in the finals after winning the Open. This would be a rematch of their 2016 NCAA Championship final which was Nolf’s last folkstyle loss that did not result in an injury default. IMar also defeated Nolf in the Big Ten finals that same year after Nolf pinned IMar earlier that season.

Should he navigate the field that include IMar as well as Anthony Valencia and Tommy Gantt among others, he will earn a spot at Final X Lincoln against multiple-time World and Olympic Champion ad medalist Jordan Burroughs.
