Quarterfinal Round Notes

* UPDATE - Ohio State is leads OK State by 10.5 in the race for 2nd. No one can realistically catch those two. The battle is for the final podium spot which Iowa leads by 6 over Michigan and by 6.5 over Missouri. We'll focus on those Top 6 teams from here on out.

Penn State - RBY by fall in the wrestlebacks. Nick Lee 3rd period reattack to beat Murin. Berge stayed alive and Nolf teched. Mark with a solid win over Lujan. Bo majored. Cassar 4-0 over Hillger.

Ohio State - Pletcher punched his AA status, beating Phillippi. McKenna majored McKee. Micah easily over Lugo makes for three straight in the semi's for the Bucks. Myles majored Preisch. Moore won a shootout. 

Iowa - Pin points for Spencer. DeSanto lost 3-2 to Micic. Murin fell in a close one to PSU's Nick Lee. Lugo couldn't thwart Micah's offense. HUUUGE win for Kaleb Young over Deakin. The Bull lost late to Tech's Mekhi Lewis. Wilcke won his first consi. 

Minnesota - Lizak was pinned by Suriano. McKee fell to McKenna. Gable smoked Dhesi.

Oklahoma State - Picc with a controlled win over Glory. Daton majored Erneste. Weigel pinned Brunner. White 3-1 over Stencel.

Michigan - Micic edged DeSanto. Big win for Pantaleo over Hidlay who beat him the last two times. Amine outlasted Jordan Kutler in OT.

Missouri - Erneste fell to Fix. Eireman easily over Lock Haven's Kyle Shoop. Daniel Lewis pinned Labriola. Wisman got knocked out in OT to Emery Parker. 

Nebraska - Red won on the backside. Berger beat ODU's Early to get to the semi's. White fell to Cenzo in OT for the second straight year. Labriola was pinned by 2nd seed Daniel Lewis.

Virginia Tech - Huge win to keep Tech in the Top 10. Mekhi Lewis upset top seeded Alex Marinelli. Zavatsky fell to Drew Foster.

Northern Iowa - Alber fell in consi's to Jamel Morris. Steiert lost to Shields. Lujan wrestled Mark Hall tough but also lost. Foster hits the semi's with a win over Zavatsky. 


Round 2 Notes

Penn State - RBY came close to a 3rd period takedown on DeSanto but lost. Nick Lee pinned. Berge lost to Kolodzik. Nolf teched. 8-4 for Cenzo over Mizzou's Flynn. 7-3 for Hall over Cornell's Womack. Rasheed was upset on a late turn by UNC's Chip Ness. Bo pinned in 2:26. Major for Cassar over Tate Orndorff. 

Oklahoma State - Picc major and Daton workmanlike decision over Schmitt. Jacobe Smith fell to Nebraska frosh Mikey Labriola. Geer fell to ISU's Sammy Colbray. Wiegel made the quarters by beating Eric Schultz. White over Singletary, 5-2.

Ohio State - Pletcher with a solid win over Montorie Bridges. McKenna nearly teched Kaid Brock. Ke-Shawn lost to Iowa's Kaleb Young. Micah majored Max Thomsen. Campbell fell to Chance Marsteller. Myles and Moore rolled. Singletary fell to top seeded Derek White. 

Iowa - Spencer controlled Fausz. DeSanto scored first on RBY and put it away with a big play late in the 3rd. Young dominated Ke-Shawn. Lugo scored a counter TD in OT vs. Ryan Blees. Marinelli majored. Wilcke was leading 50-seed Max Dean before it got tied late. A hands to the face put Wilcke up 4-3 with about a minute to go. Then Dean forced a stall point to tie it. In OT Dean won a scramble to give Iowa their first loss of the tourney. Warner then lost in OT to Cal Poly's Tom Lane. Stoll gutted out another tough win over Conan Jennings. 

Michigan - Micic majored Thornton after Mattin lost to top seed Rivera. Storr lost a close one to Dom Demas. Pantaleo 5-3 over Weiland. Massa was reversed and ridden out in dropping to UNI's Bryce Steiert. Amine majored. 

Minnesota - Russell majored then Lizak hung on in a crazy bout with Tariq Wilson. McKee beat Turner. Gopher's first loss came when Thorn fell to Mauller. UNI's Taylor Lujan pinned Skatzka. Gable beat Brian Andrews.

Missouri - Erneste beat Lock Haven's DJ Fehlman late. Eierman edged Cam Kelly, 10-8. Mauller beat Thorn. Flynn lost to Vincenzo Joseph. Lewis pinned Ryan Christensen. Elam lost to Lehigh's Jordan Wood.

Nebraska - Red lost to Yianni, 7-3. Berger pinned Barone. White edged Branson Ashworth, 5-4. Labriola with a huge 8-4 win over OKST's Jacobe Smith. Venz fell to Lehigh's Ryan Preisch, 4-3. OKST's 3 seed, Preston Wiegel beat Schultz, 7-2.


Round 1 Notes

Penn State - RBY by dec. Pin points for Nick Lee. Crossface cradle for Nolf. Berge by decision. Cenzo by fall in a tilt. Hall majored. Shak majored. Bo with a first period pin. Cassar with a 2nd period pin and the Nits were perfect. 

Oklahoma State - Picc with a pin. Daton and Kaid majored. Major loss here as Gfeller loses to former Cowboy Ryan Blees in OT. Joe Smith led early but fell to top seed Alex Marinelli. Jacobe survived near disaster with an OT win over Hughes. Big win for Geer to get the Cowboys back on track as he beat Reenan. Wiegel teched up Seely early. 

Ohio State - Heinselman fell to Arujau. Pletcher majored. McKenna teched. Micah pinned. Hayes and Campbell by decision. Ethan Smith dropped to the consi's. Myles with the fall. Moore cruised to a major. Singetary avenged a loss to Nebraska's David Jensen to cap off a strong 8-2 round for the Buckeyes.

Iowa - Spencer teched. DeSanto stalled his opponent out in the first period. I'm serious. Big Big win for Murin over Moran. Followed by another one! Lugo beats Maruca. Young teched. Come from behind win for the Bull over 2x AA Joe Smith to keep the Hawks rolling. Wilcke kept the Hawks perfect w/ a win over Gravina. Warner survived a late turn to win 9-8. Stoll with an excellent performance in a win over Parris and the Hawkeyes have a perfect opening session! 

Michigan - Malik Amine won his pigtail, then lost to Ashnault. Mattin won an important one over Schroeder. Micic rolled. Storr wins. Pantaleo 16-3. 

Minnesota - Russell majored. Lizak in a squeaker, 3-1 w/ RT. McKee pinned. Thorn with a huge win over Artalona late. Bleise majored. Skatzka majored. Gable with a quick tech.

Missouri - Punke lost to Russell (MINN). Erneste, Eierman, and Mauller majored. Jacques lost to Army's Luke Weiland. Lewis pinned quickly. Wisman fell to MSU's Caffey. Elam beat Voss in OT. 

Nebraska - Moisey lost to Oliver. Big fall for Chad Red over Ian Parker. Berger teched. White, Labs, Venz and Schultz all by decisive decisions. Jensen dropped to Chase Singletary.
