This will be Oliver's first appearance in a domestic tournament since the 2017 U.S. Open. With the saga of his suspension now over, the two-time NCAA champ is turning his eye towards qualifying for the 2019 World Team Trials and Final X.

Once again, FloWrestling will be live streaming the event. It is the 21st edition of the Dave Schultz Memorial, and is the first opportunity on the men's freestyle side to qualify for WTT. Brackets will eventually be in FloArena, but for now you can find entries there.

Back to Oliver though, it would be his third time competing at the Schultz after winning the event in both 2015 and 2017. If he wrestles, it will be his first tournament of 2019 after wrestling three times in 2018.

Although he only wrestled five matches last year, it was a challenging schedule. He saw 2016 Olympic silver medalist Toghrul Asgarov at Beat the Streets, world bronze medalist Akhmed Chakaev in Poland, and 2017 world team member Zain Retherford at the American Wrestling League event. His only loss of the year was 9-8 to Chakaev.

This is the first time Oliver can qualify for the Trials, or for that matter anyone who was not on the 2018 junior, U23, or senior world teams. The complete WTT qualifying procedures can be found here.

If Oliver stays at 70kg for the whole season, he will be looking to qualify for Final X: Lincoln on June 15th. However, if he drops back down to 65kg, he'll be attempting to wrestle at Final X: Rutgers on June 8th. More information on the Final X weight class locations was released this past week.

Wrestling starts on Thursday, January 24 at 9:30 AM mountain time. That first day will feature five weights of Greco-Roman (55kg, 60kg, 63kg, 67kg, 72kg) and seven weights of women's freestyle (50kg, 53kg, 55kg, 57kg, 59kg, 62kg, 65kg). Check out the complete Schultz schedule here.
