Midlands brackets just dropped and we're pumped. The 56th edition will kick off a super week of wrestling and you can watch it all live on Flo.

On Day I, Midlands wrestles through quarterfinals. That round is at 7PM CT. We won't project that far; with so much talent that's bound to be a fool's errand. But here, we'll point out the first session (Pigtails, 1st and 2nd round) bouts you won't want to miss so you can start your day off right!

*Note - this is written at time of bracket release. It's unlikely, but because of late seeding reconsiderations, brackets are subject to change.

Midlands Brackets LIVE in FloArena

125 - Round 1

Spencer Lee (Iowa) vs. Malik Heinselman (Ohio St.)

     - Perhaps the most dominant wrestler in college today against Heinselman, who spent a great deal of his time in high school ranked #1. The outcome shouldn't be in doubt, but there's a lot to learn about Heinselman here.

125 - Round 2

Patrick Glory (Princeton) vs. Jay Albis (Johnson & Wales)

     - Glory is one of the best true freshmen in the country and he has a date with DIII National Champion Albis.

Ryan Millhof (Arizona St.) vs. Brandon Courtney (Arizona St.)

     - Millhof is a former AA. Courtney a talented Frosh. Wrestle off, anyone?

141 - Round 1

Carter Happel (Iowa) vs. Marshall Keller (Princeton)

     - Happel is a returning placer with an outside shot to gain a starting gig. Keller is a FR who made FloNats finals last year. Winner gets another FloNats Runner-Up in Michael Blockhus.

149 - Round 1 - RED ALERT!

Sammy Sasso (Ohio St.) vs. Jacori Teemer (Arizona St.)

     - Two of the finest prospects from last year's class. Teemer beat Sasso to win the spot on the Cadet World Team.

149 - Round 2 - RED ALERT!

Brayton Lee (MINN) vs. Anthony Artalona (PENN)

     - Both claimed #1 status at 145/152 at one time or another last year in high school. What a FR class!

165 - Round 1

Alex Marinell (Iowa) vs. Danny Braunagel (Illinois)

     - Marinelli is among the elite at the weight but Braunagel should make for an interesting early bout as he won Fargo JR FS this year and is a future hammer for the Illini.

174 - Round 2

Aaron Brooks (PSU) vs. Ben Harvey (AWP)

     - Cadet Gold/Junior Silver medalist and uber recruit Aaron Brooks starts off with the #12 ranked wrestler in college.

184 - Round 2

Jack Jessen (Northwestern) vs. Gavin Hoffman (Ohio St.)

     - The elites of the 2018 high school class continue to battle. Jessen was Fargo Champ at 182, Hoffman was consensus #1 at 195. Winner should get top seed Drew Foster in quarters.

285 - Round 2 - RED ALERT!

Mason Parris (MICH) vs. Anthony Cassioppi (Iowa)

     - And yet another pairing of super FROSH. Cassioppi beat Parris at Fargo this summer. Both should be staples on the NCAA podium for the foreseeable future.
