Things settled down considerably post-Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, however, this week was not entirely absent movement. In particular, the Dangerous Dom Demas continued his assault on the 141-pound rankings. The Sooners have a fun one on their hands, as the redshirt freshman from Ohio wrestles with a crowd-pleasing reckless abandon with nigh unlimited potential.

Here are the biggest movers in the top 20 rankings after the sixth week of the NCAA season.

2018-19 NCAA Rankings

STOCK IS UP

285 lbs: Amar Dhesi, Oregon State

Unranked to #1

Dhesi's back, and as the highest returning All-American at 285, he goes from out of the ranking to #1. It's a bit of a cop-out, as Dhesi would have been in the rankings had we known he was coming back, but nonetheless, Dhesi is by far the biggest riser of the week.

285 lbs: Jake Gunning, Buffalo

Unranked to #13

Jake is a two-time qualifier who has been in and out of the bubble since the beginning of the season. Gunning was just outside the top 20 when he beat George Mason's Matt Voss The Boss to reclaim a top 20 spot all the way up at #13.

141 lbs: Dom Demas, Oklahoma

#13 to #8

All the best wrestling blogs are talking about this guy Dom. He was the Sooners' lone individual victory in this season's edition of Bedlam. But it was a big one, as Demas narrowly beat two-time All-American Kaid Brock to earn his first top 10 ranking of his young career.

197 Pounds

This was due to the unfortunate season-ending injuries to #2 Kyle Conel of Kent State and #4 Jacob Holschlag of Northern Iowa. But because of this, just about everybody moves up in the rankings. 197-pounds is very much like an assortment of candied deserts, surprises abound with every new examination.

Stock Is Down

285 lbs: Matt Voss, George Mason

#7 to #14

Besides his loss to Gunning, Voss also dropped a close one in the finals of the inaugural Patriots Open to North Carolina State's unranked Colin Lawler. Those losses sent Voss back down to earth a bit after he soared all the way to #7 this season.

174 lbs: Brit Wilson, Northern Illinois

#15 to #20

Wilson has multiple wins over national qualifiers already this season, but the redshirt-freshman Huskie also has a couple head-scratching losses, including last weekend to unranked Carver James of Illinois, sending him right to the cusp of the rankings.

149 lbs: Henry Pohlmeyer, South Dakota State

#15 to #19

Pohlmeyer's loss to Missouri's Alex Butler at the UNI Open knocked him down a few notches in a very competitive 149-pound field.

You Make the Call

Where’s Roman Bravo-Young?

As a true freshman RBY entered the season with tabla rasa for a college resume. Though he's beaten all five of his D1 opponents that have stepped on the mat to face him, he remains unranked. Is that fair? Our own Wrestling Nomad has written many words on the matters. Read his take here, then send us your thoughts.
