Fresno State is picking up a Top-10 guy at 195 as Ryan Reyes of Gilroy committed to the Bulldogs.

The verbal gives Fresno three Top-100 commits in just their second year back as a Division I Program. Reyes, who is #49 on the 2019 Big Board, joins fellow California natives Matt Olguin of Buchanan and Christian Rodriguez of Clovis North.

A rising senior at Gilroy, Reyes has placed third each of the past two years at 195lbs, where he is currently ranked ninth. As a freshman, he also finished seventh at 170, and seeks a state title this season while trying to become a rare four-time placer in the Golden State.

Fresno is starting to have good problems in the upperweights. We have Reyes as our #12 prospect at 197, which would mean he could take over for current junior Josh Hokit after a redshirt year. However, they also have true freshman Isaiah Perez at 197, and another true freshman in Nick Casperson listed at 184/197, so they certainly are developing good depth. It also allows them to juggle as some guys may bump up or down, depending on team need.

Reyes had a busy season in 2017-18, making the finals at Reno TOC, Doc B, and Five Counties, as well as a third place finish at Powerade.
