Nahshon Garrett vs Joe Colon: 3 Match Series
Nahshon Garrett saved his best performance for last as he earned a spot on the Men’s Senior Freestyle World Team.
Nahshon Garrett saved his best performance for last as he earned a spot on the men’s Senior freestyle world team with a lightning-quick showing in match three at Final X Lehigh on Saturday in Bethlehem, PA.
Joe Colon struck first with a workmanlike win in the first match to get the early edge. It was his takedown to turn transition that powered him to the series advantage. But that’s where it would stop for Colon. Garrett nearly ended it early when he came out on the good end of a 50-50 crackdown position by putting Colon on his back with a trap arm. Ultimately, Colon fought off his back but the fireworks continued till the very end of match two.
The last match was as lopsided as you can get. Garrett deployed an offensive attack plan that had everyone thoroughly impressed.
Relive the three-match series between Colon and Garrett.
