Ashnault Will Be Back Next Year For Rutgers
The NCAA has given Anthony Ashnault a medical redshirt last year, allowing him to compete in the 2018-19 season for Rutgers.
Anthony Ashnault will be mobbing for the Scarlet Knights next season. FloWrestling has learned that the NCAA gave Ashnault a medical redshirt for last season, allowing him to compete for Rutgers in the 2018-19 season as a sixth-year senior.
Ashnault is a three-time All-American, placing eighth, fourth, and sixth in the NCAA Championships from 2015 to 2017, respectively.
FloWrestling also learned Ashnault will also be moving up to 149 pounds for the first time in his career.
The Scarlet Knights graduate All-American Scott DelVecchio and NCAA qualifiers Richie Lewis and Eleazer Deluca this year but return NCAA finalist Nick Suriano and qualifiers John Van Brill and Nick Gravina. A sixth year for Ashnault will add to an already formidable lineup.
