College Wrestling Betting Lines: A Great Week To Wager

With both high-profile duals and individual matchups taking place, this weekend would be a dream for wrestling aficionados who also like to dabble in wagering.

What's more — now in late January — we have a full load of data. We've seen these guys a lot, enough to make some informed decisions. Of course, you always have to contend with that measly point spread. Or, in the case of the really close matchups, the money line.

This weekend offers duals between perennial powers Michigan and Iowa, Penn State and Minnesota, and Oklahoma State and Missouri.

#20 Minnesota (+24.5 pts) at #2 Penn State

Friday, 7 PM ET | Big Ten Network

The Nittany Lions are a massive favorite here. What will make or break the spread will be the first three weights, at which the Gophers are the favorites. The best match of the night will come at 141 where Minnesota All-American Tommy Thorn will give PSU's Nick Lee his first big test since coming out of redshirt.

#6 Michigan (+2.5 pts) at #3 Iowa

Saturday, 5 PM CT | Big Ten Network

Michigan has been a bit inconsistent, while Iowa is rounding in to a much more formidable, podium-contending team that looks better each passing week. That being said, in duals, matchups are king. And the #6 Wolverines match up very nicely with the third-ranked Hawkeyes. I'm setting the dual score up with Iowa as a 2.5-point favorite with pivotal matches at 165 (Alex Marinelli vs. Logan Massa) and 285 (Sam Stoll vs. Adam Coon).

#7 Missouri (+4.5 pts) at #5 Oklahoma State

Saturday, 7 PM CT | LIVE on FloWrestling

Missouri visits historic Gallagher-Iba Arena with a perfect 15-0 dual record and four guys ranked in the top five. But the Tigers haven't faced the stiffest competition. Their higher ranked win came vs. #10 Virginia Tech. On the flip side, most pundits (and perhaps Oklahoma State's head coach) will tell you the Cowboys haven't put it all together yet this season. They better on Saturday. Kaid Brock vs. John Erneste at 133 and Dean Heil vs. Jaydin Eierman at 141 headline the individual bouts.

Other Betting Lines

There are two head-to-head clashes outside of these individual matchups we really have to highlight. We'll learn a heckuva lot about Lock Haven's Chance Marsteller in his showdown with Rider All-American Chad Walsh, who we have listed as a favorite on a money line, on Saturday. A day later, Minnesota's Ethan Lizak, who always keeps us guessing, takes on upstart Northwestern freshman Sebastian Rivera.
