The matchups for Iowa's wrestle-offs this weekend have been set, according to IowaWrestlingBlog.com.

The most interesting tidbits of information lie at 125 and 165 pounds. At 125, freshman Justin Stickley will be wrestling junior Perez Perez. The winner will face "TBA." The speculation for months has been that super recruit Spencer Lee may wrestle this year for the Hawkeyes. Of note, Lee is the only other 125 on the Iowa roster.  If he is the "TBA" referenced here, it would say a lot about his health coming off of ACL surgery last spring.

Lee competing at wrestle-offs would not be definitive proof of him wrestling varsity this year. However, it would be an undeniable drop in the bucket of evidence that the three-time world champ may be the guy this year for Iowa.

During their true freshman years, Cory Clark, Thomas Gilman, Derek St. John, and others have participated in wrestle-offs. None of those three wrestled varsity as true freshmen. Additionally, true freshman Jacob Warner will be competing in the wrestle-offs. Cash Wilcke competing up at 197 seems to indicate further that Pat Downey will be the man for Iowa at 184 come the second semester.

At 165 pounds, Alex Marinelli is not slated to compete. The report indicates Marinelli is healthy and will be the man for the Hawkeyes at 165 when the time comes. Additionally, it appears that Brandon Sorensen and Pat Lugo could square off eventually at 149 on Saturday. The two wrestled last year in an OT thriller in which Lugo emerged the victor in Edinboro. Iowa fans will be relieved to know Sam Stoll, who has battled injuries the last two seasons, is scheduled to compete in the wrestle-offs as well.

Preliminary matches for Iowa will begin on Thursday, semifinals will be on Friday, and the finals will be wrestled Saturday morning.
