We last saw Steveson wrestle at the UWW Junior World Championship over the summer in Tampere, Finland, where the Minnesota native won gold.
Watch Steveson earn his spot on the Junior world team -- while still Cadet eligible -- by beating Lehigh redshirt freshman in two straight matches in the trials finals:
The Daktronics Open will be a tremendous test for the much-hyped 17-year-old. The tournament's lineup includes not only Steveson's future team, ninth-ranked Minnesota, but also host and 15th-ranked South Dakota State and No. 17 Nebraska.
Joining Steveson at Daktronics will be future teammate and No. 1-ranked 126-pounder Pat McKee, who will test his mettle against elite NCAA DI competition as well.
