#2 Julian Ramirez Commits To Cornell
Earlier this week, Julian Ramirez revealed his final school list to us. Today, the Who's #1 competitor announced he would be committing to Cornell University.  Ramirez, the second ranked 170 pounder in the country, chose Cornell over Lehigh and Virginia Tech. The junior wrestled 152 last year for Blair Academy, and should be at 170 this year for the nation's top ranked team.

The Florida native projects as a 165 in college, but mentioned he could potentially go 157 or 174 if the need arises. Ramirez is No. 7 on the Class of 2019 Big Board, and so far half of the Top-10 in that grade have committed.

About his decision, Ramirez told FloWrestling the following:
The decision was very difficult, I loved all the schools I was looking at. However, it is where I have wanted to go since I was 8, and it felt like the best place for me.
After graduating Gabe Dean, Dylan Palacio and Brian Realbuto, Cornell has begun to reload. We rated their most recent recruiting class as the best of 2017, with six from the Big Board, led by Yianni Diakomihalis and Vitali Arujau. From the Class of 2018, coach Rob Koll and staff are bringing in Big Board commits Andrew Merola and Gerard Angelo; Merola and Ramirez are teammates at Blair.
