Madrigal was a third place finisher at Ironman last season where he gave three-time World Champ Spencer Lee a very tough battle. The OPRF product was a state runner-up the past two seasons falling to Austin Gomez and Real Woods respectively. Madrigal is also a Fargo All-American with a runner-up finish in the Cadet finals in 2015. On the Class of 2018 Big Board, he ranks 25th and is currently ranked 7th at 126.

Watch Madrigal defeat Real Woods in the quarters of Ironman last year.
