Chun twice wrestled in the bronze medal match at the Olympics, winning her medal in London and taking fifth in Beijing. She was a five-time world team member, winning the world title in 2008.
Taking over the spot vacated by Erin Vandiver when she took over the women's team at Wyoming Seminary, Chun will work with women's head coach Terry Steiner at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
I'm so excited to work with the future champions of this country, and be able to help them grow from the developmental level. It's difficult to think of me as replacing Erin, since she'll continue to be working closely with usA Hawai'i native, Chun was formerly on the men's staff at West Virginia, and also trained at Missouri. Chun mentioned that it was a great experience for her to be able to train in those environments and learn under a different group of coaches, which she hopes to use as she tries to grow in her own coaching role. She was also an integral part of growing the women's program at Missouri Valley.
