Live This Week On Flo: Feb. 24/25 - National Preps |  Feb. 24/25 - NJCAA National Championships | Feb. 26 - National Collegiate Open

It was quite a weekend for Iowa City West wrestler Nelson Brands. After winning his second 3A state title on Saturday night, the junior verbally committed to wrestle for the Iowa Hawkeyes on Monday.

Brands is currently ranked 19th at 152 pounds and is considered one of the best takedown artists in his state. He is 108-4 over the last two years for the ICW Trojans.

Although Brands is the son of Iowa associate head coach Terry Brands, it wasn't a guarantee he would stay in Iowa City. He was also looking at Nebraska and North Carolina.

You can watch his interview after winning his second state title on IA Wrestle's youtube page here.

NCAA Wrestling is back in California’s Central Valley. On November 18, 2017, The Fresno State Bulldogs made their triumphant return to the wrestling mat after 11 long years in exile. 6,840 members of The Valley’s faithful wrestling community made their way to the Save Mart Center to celebrate the momentous occasion as well (a number that dwarfed any other crowd in NCAA wrestling last weekend).
