Live This Week: Feb. 16 - Northern Colorado at Air Force | Feb. 17 - Purdue at SDSU | Feb. 17/18 - New England Prep Championships | Feb. 18 - Iowa at Edinboro | North Dakota St at South Dakota St | #2 Penn State at #1 Oklahoma State
Four-time Pennsylvania state wrestling champion Chance Marsteller has avoided prison time for an August incident at Lock Haven University that saw him plead guilty to charges of open lewdness and simple assault last month.
Marsteller, 21, was sentenced to seven years of probation on Monday by Clinton County Judge Michael Salisbury, according to PennLive.com. Marsteller was also fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 350 hours of community service.
He must report to his probation officer twice a week and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing. There were a number of restrictions that came with his sentence as well, such as an 8 PM to 6 AM curfew.
As for Marsteller's wrestling career, plenty is yet to be determined. After his August 25 arrest, Marsteller was kicked out of Lock Haven and off the wrestling team. Though he was allowed to re-enroll at Lock Haven at the beginning of this semester, he will not be permitted to rejoin the team until January 2018. The last time we saw him on the mat was at the Bill Farrell International Open in November.
